It's apparent to me that shows like House of Dragon are trying to capitalize on already existing props and vfx. It's the Mandalorian technique of filmmaking. You have decade(s) worth of props, costumes, sets, and virtual assets that are just gathering dust in some studio somewhere. The makers of The Mandalorian basically created a (competent) show around these production assets. Low production cost -> high return. House of Dragon fails because the scope of the story outweighs the production assets. The only solution is to cut corners but unfortunately this makes the show look noticeably cheap which in turn makes it difficult for the audience to lose themselves in the story. The helmets of the Kingsguards are literally repainted Magneto helmets. And they're made of some rubbery plastic. In some scenes you can see them get squished.

Agree. Ironically, it's the same director as 'The Long Night' from GoT.
Which had the worst night scenes that I can recall.
How you could screw it up twice, is beyond me.

agree with all of your points except i 100% am team green, i think alicent is a verry symathetic character (in a state of absolute terror on the dangerous position her children are in, and has been a slave to her role in the patriarchal system since the day she was born) plus everyone on her side is way more fun to watch- and in a show about feudal monarchs fighting each other where the entire point is 'this system is bad, everyone is bad, there's no right choice of who should be totalitarian ruler' i'd rather support the side that entertains me the most than try to pick out which side has technically done the least wrong

1. you're imagining things to get mad at, that was night and it looked like night
2. they were wandering around with no light because they didn't want to be seen running off to fuck

The visual quality of this episode was all over the place, some of it was so bad. That scene with Daemon and Rhaenyra on the beach looked awful. You can tell that they shot it during the day and just put a filter over it. It's so cheap and fake, not what I would expect from a show like this. It doesn't even make sense for the characters to be wandering around in the dark with no light. At least give them a torch to hold or something.

Also, they included the bit from the book where Rhaenyra literally asks for Aemond to be tortured but played it off in a way the audience wouldn't understand. "Sharply questioned" is a stand-in for "tortured" many times in the book; I wish they would have made the other characters react more to Rhaenyra saying that because without it people are going to think she just wanted Aemond to be interrogated.

Do you girls mod your youtube comments yourself? Because if you do,I feel like it's only a matter of time until you get spoiled. Some viewers take the black/green conflict way to serious. Across all of youtube comment sections for the last 2 episodes are filled with people who need to touch some grass.

also, just wanted to say it's really hypocrite of targaryen stans how they talk shit about alicent and aemond while defending daemon. they call aemond a woman hitter because ahe punched one of the girls while daemon literally smashed his wife's head with a rock...

don't mind me, i'm just here to defend my girl alicent because she doesn't deserve all the hate.
she was wrong, obviously, about the eye for an eye thing, but people read it as her being petty and evil and that's not it. she's clearly a mentally unstable woman whose been abused since she was a child and fed by her father the idea that her children will be murdered if rhaenyra even ascends the throne.
after all the years of being paranoid her son is injured and of course she lost it. her son lost a fucking eye and people expected her to act like it was nothing. let me again reiterate that i do not agree with her methods.
but the thing is that here it was shown how viserys doesn't love her or their children as much as he loves rhaenyra and her children and that must be hard to someone who has been maritally raped since she was a child and forced to have child after child.
aemond was rude as fuck for what he said but he did claim the dragon, he did not steal her, and after years of bullying it's comprehensible that he would lash out when he had some power. his cousins, well, nephews, have laughed at him for years for his lack of dragon and he was not in fact the one that started the physical fight. he was a little shit, no doubt about it, but he was not the one who attacked first.
and lastly... i love rhaenyra, i really do. and i think she's the one that must end up on the throne. that said, i must admit she pissed me off a little in this episode. she has the right to have children with whomever she wants, but she can't expect that everyone turns a blind eye and then try to accuse them of high treason when someone pints out the truth. it really bothered me how she tried to have alicent accused of high treason when she's the one actually committing said treason.
i'm liking the show but they're trying to portray the blacks as more merciful than they actually were. in the books laenor did die and it was suspected that daemon may have done it.
also, since episode 5 were were shown rhaenyra's manipulative side when she swore on her mother's memory to alicent daemon never touched her. in this episode we could see how she referred to viserys as "your grace" until she got what she wanted, then she referred to him as father.
i'm not "team green" but i like alicent and aemond and i feel like people can read the characters or just refuse to do it and want to see them just as the villains.
