Off-topic but is it possible to reupload the missing Better Call Saul full episodes from season 6? Most of them are gone.

yea and yet its the truth that hes much more useful WITH powers than none at all. They nearly took out Homelander. MM is 10x the man as Hughie and yet Butcher and Hughie has done more than anyone else on the show. We can argue about morality or subtext of pride or whatnot but the simple truth is here: they are against monstrosities. They need monsters of their own. You can choose the high road if you like but then you have no right to judge how others wish to live their life. But reality oftentimes end with monsters being on top. Attack on Titan 1st season, I quote Armin Arlett: "In order to defeat monsters, we must discard our humanity and become monsters ourselves". No one seemed to disagree with Armin then. This is the same exact situation. Hughie wanted to save Annie because hes always being saved. There is nothing wrong with wishing to protect your loved one. Like I said, if it was the other way around, no one would question the woman for wanting to be strong. And I wouldnt either. If both of them have powers they can protect EACH OTHER. It lets one side rest easier and puts less stress on them. The only thing we can disagree on is that Temp V is untested and dangerous so it was stupid of Hughie to do so because of that. But the wish to be strong in order to help and protect your partner? Literally nothing wrong with it unless ppl make it so. Hughie only said he was tired of being protected because he was weak. If he had powers, then he doesnt feel as worthless. He has no problem of being protected but he wants to contribute and protect others too. You dont have to be ONLY one or the other. He can protect Annie just as she protects him. An example from another show is Sokka (Avatar the Last Airbender S3 forgot episode but its the one where he learns the sword). He literally felt worthless that episode because he saw that bending was very useful and he felt left behind and powerless. Obv we know hes not worthless since hes great at strategies but if he was able to become a better fighter then it would be a great boon for the team. He can also help in protecting them and contributing more to the cause. Are we gonna chalk that up as insecure too? Well it is because in the iend, it is insecurity but ppl see it differently for these examples. Nobody talked shit bout Sokka wanting to be stronger and then we turn on Hughie?

It was a quick line but Soldier Boy said he started Herogasm with Liberty. So this was Stormfront's first attempt at making super babies, a giant orgy

That's not the point at all. Hughie's wish to be 'stronger' is absolutely a bad thing because his definition of strength is warped and his reasoning is selfish and pitiful. Hughie doesn't want to be a Supe because it allows him to pull his weight, he wants it because he feels emasculated. He doesn't want to save Annie to 'help' her, he wants to save Annie because he wants to be the Big Man that saves the girl, he wants to be the dominant partner, not an equal one. It's the exact conversation he already had with Annie in season 1 when he called out her ex for having a tiny baby dick - which is why it's so pathetic and he rightly gets called out here. Hughie was already strong without having to be a Supe, it'd be like saying MM isn't strong or worthwhile either when right now he's ten times the man Hughie is. It's being 'marked' as insecure male pride because that's literally what it is. This isn't subtext it's text.

to be fair to Huey, his wish to be stronger isnt a bad thing. If this was the other way around, a girl wants to be stronger in order to protect her man, ppl would cheer for it as women's empowerment. But since its a man, we can easily mark it as some kind of "insecure male pride" and a negative concept. Its not even about gender at that point. Huey is living in a world with his enemies being supes. And for better or worse, having the powers is better than having none. Obviously he shouldnt be doing the new V because its untested but i dont blame his wish to be stronger. Its no different from having a joint marriage where both partners work. Instead of just having one partner provide for the family, why not both?

Yeah, the comic book this show is based ended years ago. Annie publicly turning on Homelander at the end of this episode felt a little weird to me, because he already called her bluff on exposing what a monster he is. I guess the idea is that she's just too fed up to let him push her around any more, but Homelander is still capable of carrying out his threat from before, not much has really changed in that regard.
