god these last few episodes in each one there are multiple beautiful and poignant moments. wraths death, scar about to save the nation that was the object of his own vengeance..the culmination of his character arc, hohenheim and sons teaming up together, and pride turning into a little child crying on ed's jacket. like wtf...honestly not many anime can stitch these moments together so beautifully into a grand story.

I feel like the 90s anime is amazing and then after that read the manga from the beginning..I feel like most people who watch the anime read the manga after how could you not

He was thinking of the people who he considered his family, specifically his "Mother", the only person who really cared about him and loved him unconditionally. He desired to be with her, wanted her affection. He never got it from anyone else.

If Bradley never believed in God, does that mean he thought Father's plan was just nonsense?

Chainsaw Man is quite mid, but you’re right about the hype. Demon Slayer is a better option for overhyped mid shows though.

I think FMA:B is one of the best-written pieces of fiction out there, but I'm not gonna lie, as someone who's not at all religious, this scene didn't hit the same way for me as it does for others. I think I would have liked it more had Lan Fan reflected the light or something, idk. You could have still had the sun, but it would have felt less convenient, more purposeful.

it's never been confirmed that the two are together. In fact, the ending credits support the fact that Lan Fan is still supporting him as his bodyguard.

Idk if anyone has said it yet but, an eclipse is historically seen as a sign from God. So when that light shines out again, glints off Bradley's sword and blinds him momentarily. The writer is poetically signaling God's intervention.

Well, not much speaking from you two during the episode. Which is understandable, because it's definitely one of the best episodes in the series :D
Hohenheim calculating the position of the moon's shadow to use it as a enormously powerful transmutation circle is such a big brain move, because he essentially used the Father's "weapon" against him. Same goes for Scar's brother, who must've been a genius to figure out the nature of alchemy in Amestris.
The voice acting in this episode was simply amazing, especially Ed Blaylock as Bradley. Same for the dialogues between him, Scar and Lan Fan - it was so powerful. I love both Bradley and Scar, they are such interesting, complex characters. Most homonculi have pretty basic personalities, but Bradley was always a delight to watch. Scar's redemption arc is done so well - I don't think it's as good as (SPOILERS FOR AVATAR:TLA) the one of a certain prince from the Fire Nation, but it takes a second place for me when it comes to animated series.
Ed's signature move of changing himself into a single soul philosopher stone saved him yet again. Many people forget about that, but he is truly a very skilled alchemist, especially for his age. Both him and Al are prodigies, but while I get the notion that Al is a better fighter, Ed is (was) more skilled when it came to alchemy.
And of course, Kimblee. I did not like him that much the first time I saw the show, but every time I rewatched it, I appreciated him more. He's a very evil person, but a very consistent one at the same time. He hates hypocrisy and is the first person to call out others for it. He is both a philosopher and a sadistic psychopath. You could always see that he somewhat tried to understand the brother's ideology, even discussing it with Al in the middle of a fight, and I think he has a lot of respect for them. I know I complained when Ed spared his life, but in this episode we see that it really payed off, because if it was not for Kimblee, Ed would probably be dead or worse.
I will really miss your reactions when it's all over. Good we still have three episodes left.

Hiromu Arakawa is such a genius writer. When we got the flashback to the Ishvalan war, specifically the scene where King Bradley told the Ishvalan Emissaries that they were not going to accept surrender and that the military was going to continue their attack, Bradley mocked the Ishvalan priest for saying that he would feel God’s wrath, saying “if God truly cared I dare him to strike me down right here right now with furious divine intervention.” In this episode where he’s dueling Scar, who is the consequence of Bradley/Amesteris’ slaughter of the Ishvalan people, a beam of light from the sun caused by the eclipse blinds Bradley at a crucial moment which gives Scar the upper hand and deals the final blow to Bradley. I think that’s such a clever way to suggest that “god’s wrath in divine intervention” comes down on Bradley. What an interesting character

This is the episode that we get to see the results of all of those conversations that Kimblee had with the Elrics. The last time we heard him speak, he said that he doesn't understand their way of thinking, right before getting bitten through the windpipe.
Now we see that after his "death" he's the one that might understand them the best. Kimblee was a psychopath, but people like him because he's a principled and straightforward psychopath.
