It's interesting to see your reaction to this show. Mob Psycho is a satire on the superhero/superpowers genre. It inserts the tropes of the genre but the main characters (Mob & Reigen) react in a realistic manner exposing the puerile nature of the driving plot (evil organization trying to take over the world). To make an analogy, imagine how actual people would react to a grown man dressed as a bat who calls his car the "Batmobile": we would all point and laugh.

2022-06-27 01:36:30 +0000 UTCMob's "power" isn't at 100% when he goes 100%. All that does is unleash his power in a manner that is highly directed and difficult to stop. Mob's "power" level is something you can't begin to imagine, but he holds that back every day. He has all that power at his disposal and chooses to use the smallest amount he can to solve any give situation, even if that means no power at all. So when he lost to the fist dude in their first fight, it was because everything happened so fast and Mob became overwhelmed. The second time they faced each other, Mob simply dug deeper into his reserves than he believed necessary the first time and annihilated him. He had more important things to do.
