I haven't read the manga, but I've seen comments that Dr. Knox does suffer from PTSD and that in the manga he almost strangled his wife during one of his attacks. People have commented that this is the reason they separated, so that he wouldn't be able to hurt her.

All of the characters that took part in the war have demons, but he is one that most classically shows signs of depression and PTSD. Him throwing away the family picture in the previous episode because he feels he doesn't deserve love, and then his son telling him that he still loves and admires him despite everything he's done is so touching to me <3

2022-07-08 15:42:39 +0000 UTCyes, i am, yet again, commenting before i even start with the actual reaction. but let me tell you I FEEL YOU in terms of awful experiences in airports i curretly live in lanzarote, which is in the canary islands of spain but it's way closer to africa than it is to spain. that means everytime i have to go anywhere i have to fly first to madrid, which is already an almost 3 hour flight. a few months ago i went to uruguay to visit my family and what usually is a 12 hour or so flight turened into a 14 hour flight. anyway, when i was flying back home both flights were late and it was horrible. when i went to new york te flight had a connection in montreal and the flight was delayed like 18 hours... i'm used to airports, but damn, i hate when flight get delayed, specially when i'm travelling with my cat and i always pack too many things so i have to carry to many things anyway, after telling you all a story no one cares about or asked for i'm going back to watch the reaction PS: because i'm apparently in a talkative mood and can't stop rambling... if i spent half the time i spent doing buzzfeed quizzes and the likes studying while i was in college i would have graduated top of my class. i had to do it now because i didn't remember and turns out i'm wrath (don't see it but ok) in the homunculus quiz and alphonse in the character quiz...

Whether you deserve it or not is another question and a person that has scorched hundreds of people to death hardly deserves those things. At the end of the day for Roy it was either be a part of the war or potentially get demoted or killed for treason. He chose the former.

2022-07-08 03:18:12 +0000 UTCthe beginning of the manga was shortened on the anime, so part of the relationship between Ed and Roy was cut. In a summary, Roy gave Ed some mission and Ed is like: "fuck that, I will do it my way, I'm a rebel and Roy can't control me". Just for in the end everything ends in a way that benefits Roy anyway and he uses the achievements of Ed and Al to bust his own reputation and climb the ranks. But it's all done in a funny way.
