The Expanse 4x07 Reaction

The Expanse 4x07 Reaction

Absolutely agree with and vote for Mr. Robot! It's a mysterious, intellectual, societal thought piece that I think they would both super love, especially Lola. It's another series that like The Expanse, just gets better as it goes on and is fully completed!

My vote is for Deadwood but it's a show that doesn't open up until you watch it a second time. You're thrown in the middle of the story with no real exposition. It's almost impossible to understand what characters even say because not only is their vocabulary different but the meaning of the words are different as well compared to modern day English. On my first watch I thought it was a good show. On my second watch I thought it was the greatest thing ever. I didn't even notice the humor first time around which is crazy considering every other scene in Deadwood is a comedic scene. Maybe it's not reaction-worthy but it's definitely worth at least watching it twice.

Since you were wondering what to watch next, I'd like to recommend three outstanding series that I think would be a great for you. They also have one befit that many other shows lack--they're not being shown by every other reaction channel out there. Humans (2015-2018), 3 seasons, Amazon Prime. Similar to Westworld, the series focuses on the social, cultural, and psychological impact of the invention of synthetic humans. The first season was reviewed positively by critics (88% Rotten Tomatoes), while the second and third seasons were highly acclaimed critically (94% & 100% respectively). Mr. Robot (2015-2019). 4 seasons, Amazon Prime. Another critically acclaimed series (98%, 89%, 92%, 97%) starring Rami Malek as a cybersecurity engineer with social anxiety disorder and clinical depression, who is part of a hacker organization trying to bring down the world's largest corporation. The Last Kingdom (2015-2022), 5 seasons, Netflix. Often compared to shows like Vikings, The Last Kingdom follows Uhtred Ragnarson, born into a noble Saxon family but raised by Vikings after his family is killed in a Viking raid, as he tries to reclaim his ancestral home in 9th century Anglo-Saxon England. The show is beautifully shot with high production values all around, strong writing, compelling character-driven drama, and some of the most epic battle scenes ever.

I too support the Band of Brothers shout. One of the greatest events in television history.

No they didn't kill the guard in previous episode when they helped Bobby . Guard was just tied up .

lol, i just had the time to watch your reaction to 4x05 but commenting on this but i do watch the review till the end. i really enjoy your discussions actually when it's a really long review like this one i pause it and leave the tab open and listen to the review when i have to cook or do some things and i just put on the wireless headphones and just do things while listening to the review. i know i've said this a million times, but i would love for you to watch midnight mass, your discussions would be some of my favourites i think. and it got totally robbed in the emmy nominations. i'm sad because if it's based on polls you'll never end up watching it. i'd be even happy if you watched it on your own and made a video just talking about it. anyway, i'm going to watch your reaction to 4x06 now.

I third Band of Brothers & second Black Sails. 2 of the greatest shows ever made.

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

they answered me a few weeks ago and said they're planning to finish it at some point but they don't think they'll be able to react to it

I think the death slugs are really what hammers home the point about how arrogant everyone was to think they could just settle a living alien world without even knowing what they were getting themselves into first. Nature has a lot of pretty violent ways to punish creatures that try to leave their lane.

will you guys be reacting to stranger things? this last season was amazing

Dominic

I second the Band of Brothers suggestion! Also, another great show that I think you two would really enjoy is Black Sails.

Nice call on the radiation meds! Never seen someone predict that before

There will be more to say about this next episode (which I know you guys watched already), but Avasarala did have a third option with Marco and the Pizzouza. That is to simply not take such an aggressive approach in taking the ship, when they only had very limited intel that Marco was even on it. As you guys said, both strike options were incredibly risky and it was likely a lose-lose situation. And as you guys also mentioned in the previous episode's discussion, it was pretty clearly a trap. In effect Avasarala and the UN were betting that Marco was careless enough to be spotted even when he knew about the price on his head. Something Ashford thought to be very unlikely. However, Avasarala wanted someone's "head on a spike", so a wait-and-see approach was out of the question for her. Whether that was a judgement error on her part or not, is a discussion for later.

Band of Brothers is something you should watch if you haven't already, it's genuinely one of the best miniseries out there I reckon
