2022-07-21 21:18:13 +0000 UTC@LM Reaction your father's name as in his given name or the surname? i'm don't know many serbians other than you two and a bunch of students who did erasmus on my college, so i'm not that familiar with serbian names, but seeing a male name right after a female's name would look a bit weird here i guess not having a middle name would have been a blessing for me as a child because many people laughed at me because nicole was a really girly name and i was too much of a tomboy 😂

2022-07-20 12:39:50 +0000 UTCi always found fucked up the fact that in most countries the surname of the mother is lost altogether or just relegated to the second surname. my second surname is going to be "extinct" in a generation or two because i'm not planning on having children and my older sibling's kids have my mother's first husband's surname. and most members of my family on my mother's side are women. anyway, that's really interesting. i like that you are planning on a double name :)

And my published papers have both of my first names on them, simply because there are a lot of Robert H.. I also want my work to be found by others. And in Germany this is common with the double surnames. If me and my girlfriend should get married (is not really necessary in Germany, because the Greens in our government plan to extend the tax rate for married couples to registered partnerships), we would also take a double name, respectively I would take one. I just like my birth name, but with possible children I just want to have the same last name as my children.

2022-07-20 00:14:29 +0000 UTCAppreciate the reaction! Since you are coming up to watching/recording it, can I suggest reading a few pages of the manga right after you watch episode 37. I remember you doing something similar a while back to get more context about Armstrong during the Ishvalan war. These pages are unfortunately from the Ishvalan war as well lol. They were cut from the flashback episode and focus on Kimblee (Crimson). These few pages add more intrigue to his character in my opinion and would love to hear you discuss it. I’ll include some links to a website with the manga chapters. If you want to look them up yourselves they’re Ch. 60 pages 32 and 33 as well as Ch. 61 pages 22 and 23

2022-07-19 23:59:53 +0000 UTC@Robert H. oh, that's really interesting, my mom lived in switzerland for quite a lot of years in her 20's and when she got married she used both her surname and her husband's like it was with an hyphen or something like that i find really interesting how that changes depending on the country you're from i only use my first name but i actually use my second/middle name for socials when i don't want to share personal information. my middle name is nicole and some people used to call me that or nikki and that just stuck as my go to for socials.

And in my family it has been very old-fashioned so far, that just as the both said the name of the father moves to this place. So my name is actually Robert Dirk H. :D With my girlfriend it is so that her middle name was simply chosen by sound. (And you also forget it only once, because she got really angry afterwards :D)

2022-07-19 23:51:35 +0000 UTCoh, that's interesting, you don't have middle names in serbia? in spain is not uncommon but also not THAT common, but many people have 2 names my entire family is from south america, where middle names are the norm so i have two names and two surnames when i watch an american show and they say names like john smith or jessica blair or things like that i find it hilarious because there must be thousands of people with the same name i'm not about to say my whole name but i can assure you there's no other person in the planet who have my full name, specially because my second surname is so rare that most people who have them are family or distant family. i think only 30 people or so in the world have that surname.

When I watched the show, it was a binge watch within two days. There wasn't much time left for speculation. And today I've been sitting on a series like Vikings for two weeks and I'm only on season 3. Working life and youth are really quite different periods. :D

I was kind of expecting them to read the title of the next episode (like some episodes before it) and then think to themselves, "Nop. We don't give a shit about OVA 3, we'll watch episode 36 next." :D
