Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Episode 36 Reaction

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Episode 36 Reaction

Comments

I recommend watching Fruits Basket. Wholesomeness, check. Found family, check. Parent issues, check. I can’t say it’s as good as FMAB, but it did make me cry and it also made me feel so happy. AND it’s only 63 episodes.

Hanan from Math pi Hanan

I will forever recommend She-Ra. I think it checks all the boxes: wholesome but sometimes hurts, found families, lost parents, engaging storylines and plot. I hope you consider it!

Flo A.

Would LOVE for a Firefly reaction after they're done with The Expanse. Feel like it would help fill that void for them a bit considering the very similar premisies

Kya Colosseum

Avatar is my favourite show, and HxH is probably my second favourite. I get that you don't like HxH but it IS extremely similar in vibes to both FMAB and Avatar, hence the overwhelming support for it here

Kya Colosseum

Haikyuu is incredible and needs more people talking about it honestly

Kya Colosseum

I reckon Vinland is going to replace Mob, so HxH will most likely replace FMAB when they're finished with it

Kya Colosseum

I'm in the minoirty in that I think that arc you mentioned is amazing. I do agree however there can be pacing issues, especially the first arc which can make it a bit of a deal breaker for some. Still I rate it higher than FMAB personally as think it's highs reach higher highs than FMAB, despite FMAB being more consistent overall

Kya Colosseum

Biggest problem with Code Geass is it's arguably worse than Death Note in how it objectifies the female characters. Plus whilst the first season is solid, other than a few stand out episodes in the 2nd I think it really drops the ball in terms of carrying on that first season's amazing pacing.

Kya Colosseum

My Hero had such potential, but honestly think it's been gradually falling off in quality since season 3. Completely agree about HxH and Haiikyu though, absolutely phenomenal shounens

Kya Colosseum

One Piece is a great anime with all of the things you guys would love. It's also pretty long and ongoing, so you'll be loving it for a while

Resonant Curse

I would love them to watch Haikyuu too, they will say "my boys" every episode lol

Nick R

honestly I think they'd love JJK way more than MHA

Fish Smell Bad

Guys... this is my favorite anime and I have yet to find a show that even comes close. Avatar is probably the only show I would say is as good (ie. story, emotional payoff, amazing characters with amazing bonds, wholly satisfying ending) and you've already watched it. My Hero Academia is fun and HxH is also really good. *edit* I just saw someone recommend Haikyuu and I think you guys would love it. It's a sports anime (you don't need to know anything about volleyball to get into it) but it has lovable characters and great emotional payoff and character growth.

april 🍏

I LOVE Your Lie in April 😭

april 🍏

Odd taxi or hxh

Sosa

Compared to other shows its rather lite on FS. Yeah there's the two 'festival' episodes at the school, but other than that its rather minimal. I had my ex gf watch Akame ga Kill with me and she was side eyeing me alot more than I remember actually happening lol.

Jarrod Clemens

Goblin slayer , mushoku tensei, Tokyo ghoul and SAO ? Really bruh ? Mushoku tensei and goblin slayer especially are terrible recommendations for them and will make them feel extremely uncomfortable and disgusted by Rudys disgusting habits. As for sao and Tokyo ghoul (the anime) very generic and inconsistent writing, I don’t think they would enjoy those shows.

Jay

@Mahni Alizadeh - Right, that much is clear, but you used the word "ya'll" which implies that Grifis was one of them. Maybe they were, but I didn't see a mention of Mob (at least not in this thread).

Merfhew

Please, please watch code geass it's one of the greatest anime created and highest rated and a lot of people compare it to death note and full metal alchemist brotherhood

John

I recommend you Over the Garden Wall it is a cartoon network mini show 10 episodes of 10 minutes each. It's about two brothers that are lost in the woods and trying to return to their house, but they didn't remeber how they got lost in the woods... this show is a 10/10 for me. It got kind of darkness but the little brother is so funny... so it is amazing haha btw, it is on HBO

Arturo Ruiz

they also said anime with the same vibes as fmab or avatar, hunter x hunter has nothing to do with these shows, just because there is a little boy looking for his father, or because there are funny scenes between 2 children ... if you had seen avatars you would understand what they are looking for ...

Friend

I'm a huge fan of Fairy Tail, and I think they'd love the characters. Unfortunately, in addition to being super long (as you've pointed out), plot isn't a strong point. I'd absolutely watch if they reacted to it though.

Merfhew

Most people are still suggesting shows outside your criteria, so I'll do the same below.  These are shows that you'd likely enjoy, but they're different enough from FMA to warrant a disclaimer. - Kaguya-sama: Love Is War - Natsume's Book of Friends - Durarara!!

Merfhew

Based on this criteria, I have a few show suggestions.  I've listed them in order of most relevance to your criteria.  Without spoiling anything, the highest has everything you want, while the lowest has 3 out of the 5 things you want. - Tegami Bachi [Letter Bee] - Ranking of Kings - To Your Eternity - Gravity Falls - 91 Days - Bungo Stray Dogs - Re:ZERO - The Dragon Prince - Assassination Classroom

Merfhew

If you're specifically looking for a series like FMAB, and you're sad that it's ending soon(ish), you could probably give the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist series a shot. Otherwise, it sounds like these are your show requirements: [1] Wholesomeness, but it still hurts (like good pain) [2] Great storyline [3] Siblings or found families (people that love each other) [4] Similar to FMA vibes [5] No super long shows (unless it's 100% guaranteed to be something they love) [Bonus] Includes children who were left by their parents at a young age

Merfhew

I recommend Black clover, JOJOs, ReZero, Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Revengers, Goblin Slayer, Iron blooded orphans, SAO, D gray man, Mushoku Tensei, Dr stone, Mushishi, Aldnoah Zero, One punch man, guilty crown. I’m literally listing stuff that are not similar to Fmab but hey they might like some of it

vojeeisgaming

I haven’t watched the video yet so if they asked for recommendations then it makes sense. I thought someone recommended an anime to watch and a bunch just joined in recommending there favorite animes. I didn’t think too much about it lol

vojeeisgaming

It's long but what you described for what you want in a series is basically Fairy Tail exactly. If you are willing to watch around 300 episodes you would definitely like Fairy Tail a lot. Fairy Tail also has a fantastic English Dub just like FMAB does.

Mekar

These girls would absolutely love the anime “your lie in April” the characters are good there and it’s a sad short 22 episode story

Jay

Is Mob Psycho similar to FMAB? Not really. And yet.... It's almost like, as long as the story is good and interesting, they'll love it. They said either siblings or found families. How is HxH not basically a found family? A group of kids looking out for each other.

ODIS

Maybe. But it doesn't beat HxH imo.

ODIS

Code Geass is my favorite anime of all time! I think it fits into the same category as Deathnote and FMAB in terms of plot and story. Has good characters and sibling moments, but is admittedly less wholesome that Avatar or FMA. Also, good pacing and length as it is only 50 episodes.

SunnyhuunS

It's a romcom that is 80% comedy and 20% romance/wholesome. I second this recommendation

Raziel_BBT

after much consideration, i think you should watch kaguya sama: love is war, it has nothing to do with FMAB, but you will love it

Gabriel Almeida

A show similar to avatar that you would enjoy that I would recommend is one piece. The great characters, story, and worldbuilding are enough to make you excited for the next episode imo.

Treeman

believe me i have no words, i constantly read demon slayer or hunter x hunter, shows that have nothing to do with fmab or avatar, just because there are children as protagonists so they assume that these shows are perfect for lola and milena ...

Friend

This show's so good it makes Lola angry lol.

Orr Malus

Made in Abyss!!

Jack Rabin

I think these girls would realllly enjoy Firefly. What do you guys think? Let's make it at least an option to vote on? Talking about found families and all, and a great story.

ODIS

You all should 100% watch demon slayer. Most popular anime out rn for a reason

Kanza

oh my god YES

Harfie

what i love is that they asked for shows similar to avatar and fmab in terms of vibes and many people are suggesting things that have nothing similar to those shows lol i mean, i get it, if i could i'd beg them to watch midnight mass in every post they make

sand_fl

I mean, if they specifically ask us for recommendations as they did in this reaction, we’ll all eagerly answer!

RPSiege

but has very basic not intersting story which is the most important thing i like the animation the villains and Hashira but the main group are not good character at all except Inouske

Bourbon

the last ep make the entire anime pointless and not worth it so i dont think they will be happy with the ending

Bourbon

They asked about recommendations of similar shows

Raziel_BBT

I love how where all talking about what anime for them to watch next but they not even close to finishing this one like not even close and they just started 2nd season of mob psycho. It’ll be awhile till they watch something new lol. They’ll finish mob in about 11 weeks probably since they only do an episode every week btw.. so maybe then they might start something new to watch

vojeeisgaming

Not as wholesome, but very good

SunnyhuunS

The people that said they wouldn't like it, were wrong. I thought that was pretty clear

Mahni Alizadeh

Did I miss something? I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, but almost every comment on this reaction to FMA is about something other than FMA...

Merfhew

They would absolutely love Ranking of Kings.

Merfhew

@Mahni Alizadeh - Who are you referring to when you say "you were wrong" about Mob?

Merfhew

Monster is fantastic (just finished it a week ago and I can’t stop thinking about it) but HxH is my all time fav so I’m gonna stay recommending that. Spy x Family feels like it should replace Mob tbh, I feel like the shows have similar priorities

Mahni Alizadeh

Spy x Family feels like more of a Mob psycho successor to me. Short cute and great characters with plot coming second, at least in season 1

Mahni Alizadeh

I would love to see reactions of the shows Vinland Saga, The Dragon Prince, My Hero Academia and Cowboy Bebop. I think you two would like them.

Namikaza

I think violet evergarden made me cry in every episode lol

Mahni Alizadeh

Yeah but they don’t seem to be looking at this as some foray into anime, they just want good shows with good characters and plot, and I’m sorry but Demon Slayer is sorely lacking in the plot aspect and while the characters are good, they get by mostly on colorful personalities over actual development. I mean honestly in 2 full seasons and a movie, the only thing these guys have actually learned is to ‘never give up.’ That’s nice and all but it doesn’t make for very compelling discussions or thought, which is what I watch these ladies for. So I’m personally against DS reactions for them. That said, they might like the Demons I’ll give you that.

Mahni Alizadeh

We all know they would love « to your eternity » I wish more people recommend it to them

Luna lanes

Yea Idk man Japan people and it’s so called fan services or weird services lol. I know they can get pass it no way they’ll drop an anime bcuz of 1 thing they dislike I just hope it’s not too big of a deal with these girls idk yet how they feel about ecchi in anime or perverted weird main characters. Well either way these girls we’ll enjoy most animes people recommend them that’s my opinion from me watching them react to mob psycho

vojeeisgaming

The manga is coming back though praise the lord Togashi

Mahni Alizadeh

Not god awful but I hate watching reactions to it. It’s either ‘heh that was kinda funny’ or ‘omigodddd the animationnnnn’ bc frankly, that’s all it really has to offer.

Mahni Alizadeh

I would love all of these but Lola might actually die watching Violet Evergarden. Do we really want them to cry that much lol? Kaguya Sama would be great because its like the best part of death note turned into a wholesome/funny love story

Jason Parker

At the risk of spoiling but there’s no way they’ll read: it has literally everything they asked for: found families, a brotherhood, kids abandoned by their parents, and Milena literally said ‘I like that it’s so many episodes’ It explores friendships, betrayal, morality, humanity, and specifically, relationships between friends. The fights are methodical and well thought out. The arcs are unpredictable and satisfying. It’s perfect for them based on the anime they’ve liked so far. Y’all said they wouldn’t like Mob and you were wrong so respectfully, I’m going to continue having confidence that they’ll like HxH too

Mahni Alizadeh

Yeah, I hate that they made Meliodas gropey. The story is so good, and so many people just stop at that. I wish we could edit it out and have them react to that instead!

MaxVSTheGames

I think they'll have big issues with how fanservice-y that show can be, but it doesn't mean they wouldn't enjoy it despite that. I personally also have a lot of issues with its writing, but it was still fun to watch at the time.

cosmotron

Re:Zero would be great. Subaru is one of my favorite protags in any show I've watched

Jason Parker

Fruits Basket is such a beautiful anime and it would be a really fun change of pace for the channel. It has a great story and characters, a found family, siblings, being left by parents lol it would make you laugh and cry and laugh again all in the same episode! Its the perfect show for discussions and making predictions! I guarantee you would be hooked and already love someone after episode one

Jason Parker

Demon slayer is good when it comes to characters, siblings and animation. Its also very popular so putting it out will be good for patreon and youtube (especially when the new seasons comes out). I understand whats others think when they say that DS dont have this amazing plot like fmab and aot and its a fighting anime, but to me its pretty simple.. if you dont like it...you can drop it, so i really recommend to give it a try and see if you like it :)

michaa

Monster has an amazing plot, one of the best anime I've watched. And it's also about siblings. Highly recommended. But it is not quite as wholesome as FMAB.

Jorge Bonafé

the ranking of Kings is a masterpiece , on par with AOT

Banned Exile

Haikyuu This is an overall wholesome sports anime following a high school first year in his volleyball journey. It can be a surprisingly emotional ride as you learn to love each member of the team as well as many of the opponents that they face. It’s actually the one of only two sports anime that I personally love, the other being Run With the Wind. I know a sports anime could be a hard sell for some, and admittedly the plot can’t really wow anyone, but you really do fall for the boys and can’t help but root for them. The long and short of it is that it really does make you feel good at the end of the day and I mean, a sports team is just like a found family right?

RPSiege

YES PLEASE STEINS;GATE

Jafeth Díaz

Do watch HxH, it's a masterpiece. The animation is gorgeous, it has so many heart wrenching, but also heartwarming moments, great cast of characters and some very serious themes it explores, many of which involve moral relativism. It can sometimes get scary, very cruel and shocking. Also, it's very moving at times and for me it's impossible not to cry at some scenes, but on the other hand it's often really funny, charming and wholesome. You really get to care about the characters. The music is amazing and the story is fantastic.

Nikodem

haikyu

Tiago Santos

RE ZERO or Steins gate

Bourbon

Hunter x Hunter is a must watch, but the question of WHEN you watch it is open for debate. Never cried so much at an anime as HxH and the character development is some of the best I've ever seen. It's also my most rewatched anime by a mile (even though its over 100 eps). If you did watch it you might want to do 2 eps or more per reaction. I'm not against you choosing shorter anime first.

Tom

first of all sorry for my english if i will make some mistakes, but i don't think they will like hxh, too long, too many fights, and worst of all it's not finished, and it doesn't look like avatar or fmab in the least, the story is very beautiful and some story arcs got me excited, but again, I believe that for the reasons I mentioned above they will not like this show

Friend

Surprised noone has mentioned Re:Zero. HxH is a longass show, so hopefelly you can pick small and good shows out of the way first.

michaa

Yea I bet they’ll probably dislike the gropey meliodas but bro seven deadly has some good wholesome backstories and relationships, cool ost music tht gets u pumped up, epic fighting, I bet that’s the only thing they’ll dislike about seven deadly. And about my hero academia they would totally love it if u think about dekus personality. I think they have a thing for wholesome relationships in animes .. Yo fyi guys they are watching mob psycho and they love it and that’s mostly comedy and action with only 12 eps

vojeeisgaming

My recommendations would be Jujutsu Kaisen, A Silent Voice (if they want to do a movie), Samurai Champloo, Haikyuu, Parasyte, and maybe Devilman Crybaby or Terror in Resonance.

Fish Smell Bad

Cowboy Bebop is good enough but I think Samurai Champloo is better tbh

Fish Smell Bad

Vinland Saga and Haikyuu they would love but Idk about the other two lol. Especially the "gropey" nature of Meliodas.

Fish Smell Bad

there is no way you think they're going to react to 1000 episodes... In that case I would say they'd prefer Naruto over OP but neither are ever going to happen. Not on this channel lol.

Fish Smell Bad

Yeah Demon Slayer's plot is nothing at all compared to AOT, but why does it need to be. And that is a straight up lie that they wouldn't like it. But yeah there are better shows that they could react to.

Fish Smell Bad

they would 10000% love JJK, the main trio would be their new "favourites" lol

Fish Smell Bad

Lots of people talking about Demon Slayer which I understand, It's a good show that they will definitely enjoy especially because it's siblings lol. But I feel like Jujutsu Kaisen is a little slept on... The story and Characters are better than Demon Slayer and the animation goes just as hard at times.

Fish Smell Bad

Well it depends, you can hardly disagree with the people who says that DS is carried by it’s animation as the characters and the story all are extremely basic. That being said that’s not necessarily a bad thing, a lot of people (including myself) are perfectly fine with watching a beautiful anime like this one without as much narrative depth as some other show purely for some mindless enjoyment but this is a reaction channel and we know for a fact that LM love the story and characters above all else and in that department HxH is imo far superior to DS (on top on being quite a beautiful anime on it’s own)

Pkiu

Hunter Hunter for sure in wholesomeness

Harshvardhan Singh Chouhan

idk if it's the fact that i haven't watched many animes and most of what i watched was great or just good but i went to watch demon slayer with high expectations and it disappointed me quite a lot. first season was kinda boring and the next two repetitive. it's not the worst show i've watched but definitely the worst anime i've seen so far.

sand_fl

Character development is key for each arc in this show; which makes each arc feel value! Even tho some arcs r kinda slow

Alex cleveland

I like Demon Slayer but I feel like you two would definitely like the story in Hunter Hunter a little more.

Ten

That's fair, DS is probably like my 20th Anime I've watched, and I still think it's a solid show. Again, not a masterpiece, but there's a reason opinions like yours are in the minority. It wouldn't have become such huge hit if it was as "mid" as some these comments say it is.

James Damerall

i mean... demon slayer was like the 4th or 5th anime i've watched and i didn't like it at all

sand_fl

I feel like most of the comments dissing Demon Slayer aren't looking at it from the perspective of a newbie to Anime, which is why half the people dissing it are confused as to why it's so popular. Not saying it's a masterpiece or that it belongs in the same league as FMA or HxH, but it's a pretty great introduction to Shounen Anime for people who are new to the genre in my opinion.

James Damerall

saw the vid and yeah, definitely one of the best episodes. Olivier Mira Armstrong proving once again why she's the best damn character in the show

Mahni Alizadeh

This episode only gets harder to watch

Dr. Banner

Personally would love for y’all to watch some slice of life/drama anime: Violet Evergarden, place further than the universe, or even Kaguya Sama: Love is War. Feel like you two would love the characters and interactions. Haikyuu feels perfect for them imo

TDawg

Ooof the character development in hunter x hunter is top tier. Arguably the best thing about the show

Harfie

yeah, they recognize quality imo. Bebop is QUALITY. Also, that's a found family which they say they love

Mahni Alizadeh

I haven't watched the video yet but I see people recommending anime so here goes: For this vibe, Hunter x Hunter for the love of god its the best choice. Definitely not Demon Slayer, I'm sorry but Demon Slayer reactions are so boring, as much as I enjoy the show itself. I actually recently watched Monster too thanks to this community talking about it so much and oh my god its so good. It has psychological thriller vibes but since it's an anime, it still has so much heart and focuses on characters first. It's an incredible combination. Plus there's a shortage of reactions to it so that would be awesome. But again, Hunter x Hunter is my first choice. Spy x Family I like too, it's cute.

Mahni Alizadeh

If you change Zuko's story in any way then he's no longer the boy you loved. He becomes a new character.

Dr. Banner

Demon slayer is a great one that I would recommend.

Brandon Rodriguez

YOU WOULD LOVE RANKING OF KINGS. I know you guys would CRY RIVERS

Humble Johnson

100% Hunter x Hunter. But before that I'd like to see some shorter animes like Vinland Saga, Spy x Family, or Ranking of Kings

Dominic

With how much you both love "your boys" in every other show you watch: Avatar, Mob Psycho, FMAB, AOT, etc. I can't believe you haven't watched the two best boys Gon and Killua yet.

A

Thanks for the upload! I recommend HxH and DORORO!! please, consider it <3

Gon Freecs

Haikyuu!!

Jay Craig

I love Erased. But many people don't like the last two episodes so much.

Robert H.

Character design is super cool. Some of them have great development but a lot of characters get introduced and seem to have no depth to them (but I haven’t finished the series so I wouldn’t know). I think it’s suitable more for a teen audience because of its positivity and fun story. And yes, totally agree with DS. I don’t think they would enjoy it.

Harfie

ME TOOXODJOSIDHDHDHJS

Harfie

Wait doesn’t have like thousands of episodes 😂 they said they wanted a long show but not THAT long

Harfie

Yesss hunterxhunter 100%. Jjk is also fun and interesting, characters are totally up their alley.

Harfie

Well that's your opinion. The weak point was S5 because it was rushed, but S6 story is one of the best in manga, so it could return to its best level. Also, the characters are great (and they love that). I dont see them watching JJK or DS, not really their style.

Lucas Gugli

Haha spy family would be a HILARIOUS watch!

Harfie

Would definitely recommend Erased or Ranking of Kings

unitdelta

Right, that’s an important point actually. I found the “ending” very satisfying though. Sure It doesn’t conclude the story, but it wraps up a good percentage of the conflicts built up to that point (except for one character’s). And hunter x hunter has segmented storylines, so the next bit would be our characters in a completely new setting/ conflict etc anyway so I didn’t feel like I was missing out on much when I finished it.

Harfie

It’s so boring ;u; I watched 3 seasons. “US of smash” was the only saving grace.

Harfie

I would still recommend Monster, Haikyu!, Rainbow Nisha, Ranking of Kings, Odd Taxi, and Spy x Family to the two. Hunter x Hunter is a good show, but I wouldn't be comfortable recommending another action power anime that focuses on minors with powers. It's getting boring otherwise.

Robert H.

Unfortunately, they have already seen that...

Robert H.

The next episodes can’t come soon enough. I love love your reactions

Harfie

“Found family” anime? Spy x Family!

Tim Chaos

No anime can compare to FMAB, but I think Demon Slayer has things that you like that are also in FMAB, for example the show is about to two kind/sweet siblings (a boy and his sister) in an action-packed adventures, but it also has very wholesome/sad moments.

Markub El Jaden

HxH is really great imo, storywise and plot r top tier. As well as the character development is a huge win for HxH. However, I think some arcs in HxH r too drawn out and get pretty boring easily (*reed Island) lol. I think FMAB all arcs r extremely interesting and top tier so I personally think FMAB deff takes the cake over HxH, but HxH is up there in terms of best created anime (imo). Though, I wouldnt be surprised if yall like it just as much as FMAB. But tbh I would recommend something a lottt shorter of an anime than HxH. Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Spy X Family, Erased, Vinland Saga or Cowboy Bebop.

Alex cleveland

These aren't anime, but She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and The Owl House are both great shows that are very wholesome and have the good pain you're talking about. They also have found families!

Chris Gibson

It's the only show that thinks character development means making the characters more and more annoying. Super cringe.

Norrin Radd

This is the one! I'm surprised this is the only Steins;Gate comment I've seen so far.

Chris Gibson

The thing about Hunter x Hunter (or Yu Yu Hakusho, which is by the same manga creator) to keep in mind is that the show's ending isn't an actual ending, as the manga it's based on is on an indefinite hiatus. I know it was recently announced that it would be continuing but the creator has been pretty open about struggling with health issues so I don't expect it to really finish, nor do I want it to if it means further strain on the creator's well being. It's pretty apparent that the anime and manga industry, just like the art and animation industry in the west, can be pretty cruel to it's artists. Just something important for people to keep in mind.

beans

Dark would be a great watch

Ian Mitchell

Eighty Six would be such a good one for them, especially for episode 22 alone, it had a 4 month build up to it and it was WORTH IT.

beans

I'm gonna go ahead and 3rd the ol' Code Geass recommendations here. Excellent show.

Jacob Ward

Something like FMAB?? Probably My Hero Academia. Action-packed, lots of great characters and pretty good storyline. Hope you give it a chance!!

Lucas Gugli

So many great moments in this episode. Armstrong killing Raven is always incredible, and that intro with Hohenheim is so sad. Also this is literally the only time I haven't been happy to see Winry show up lol. Silver Spoon was written by the same author as FMA. It's more comedy focused, but also has a found family aspect and can get you in the feelings. Fruits Basket (2019) would be a great choice. It's the kind of show that will stab you in the heart and then mend it with a gentle kiss. Claymore is a really great female-led series. It's a dark fantasy drama about women called 'Claymores' that hunt demons, and focuses a lot on found families that the main character makes.

cosmotron

Ranking of Kings is a good anime. It has an interesting art style as well as storytelling that is wholesome with some nice twists.

Brandon Cruz

Yes, seconding this recommendation, both for Fruits Basket 2019 and more stuff written by women.

cosmotron

you'll love 86: eighty six, it's a must watch in my opinion and i think it suits perfect to you two

Sergi Tubau

Was gonna recommad code geass as well and I agree that dubbed is better.

Lychee

Fruits basket is incredible. It’d be a great change of pace as well on the channel.

Uli

Your lie in april

Vicente de Paulo Guimaraes Priante

"Left by their parents" Yep, Code Geass.

Jarrod Clemens

I am for Spy x Family too. I had just watched it a few days ago because I didn't want to do the weekly release to myself and it's just the funniest and cutest anime I've ever seen. The manga also went completely through the roof after the first episodes were released and was #1 on the sales charts for the last 10 weeks. And the best thing about the anime is just the characters. It's such a cute family.

Robert H.

That's a good question, I'm not sure. I personally love Cowboy Bebop but it's been hit or miss with everyone I've recommended it to. People I've thought would like it don't and people I thought wouldn't like it did. It can be a bit episodic which I don't think L&M would like though.

Jay

I hate to break it to you two, but there are NO shows that are 'exactly like this' only worse, and very few better. I do second the Code Geass recommendation though. Its not perfect, but it does have an amazing first season, a pretty okay second season, with a GODLIKE final 5 episodes. That and its one of the few shows I recommend to watch Dubbed. Some people think subbed is the best, but I disagree. CG dubbed is 100% where its at.

Jarrod Clemens

You guys should check out the first series of Trigun. Awesome storyline for how old it is. However they are restarting the series from what I understand it a remake titled Trigun Stampede. And I can not wait.

Herbert Anungazuk

You girls should watch Code Geass - 2 seasons of 25 episodes each - strong sibling stories - political / military setting Plus the first intro song is regarded as one of hottest bangers any anime can open with 🔥

Alexander Shirkov

You girls will love Jujutsu Kaisen

Gabriel Almeida

from what i know hunter x hunter has been on hiatus for a few years now so its still an ongoing series. at some point there will be more episodes again but its unclear when

Sebastian

Do you guys think they would like Cowboy Bebop?

Tyler Jackson

I can't think of a big "defect" in it. Everything that Demons Slayer tries to do, it does well. The thing is that this "Everything" is not much. The writing took an approach of low risk, low reward. They used a lot of cliches and well stablished writing formulas. So there is nothing spectacular, but also no big mistakes. That aside, the quality of animation is really top tier

Raziel_BBT

I think Jujutsu Kaisen has the perfect blend of serious story and characters and comedic moments/scenes that leave you hooked every scene.

Thomas McGinley

i wouldn't say god awful but mediocre in terms of plot. the only thing it has going is the animation, that i admit is incredible. the plot is repetitive and most of the characters are cringy and forgettable. the humour is horrible and the only thing i think they may enjoy is the sibling relationship between tanjiro and nezuko (mind you that one of the only relevant female characters of the show doesn't talk and has a gag 90% of the time) and the found family. the rest is always the same, rinse and repeat. i honestly don't get why it's so freaking popular. the worst anime i've watch hands down.

sand_fl

Demon Slayer is a god awful show. The people recommending it don’t understand what you’re looking for.

Norrin Radd

Oui ! Matching really good with their sensitivity and animés tastes, can’t wait to see them start HxH

Guillaume

He's right

Luiz Fernando Maestri Filho

The only thing comparable is Hunter X Hunter. You’ll ABSOLUTELY fall in love with it!

Norrin Radd

I definitely recommend HxH, waaaaay beyound others choices read over here !

Guillaume

Say no more HunterxHunter is what you girls need

Luiz Fernando Maestri Filho

I'm going to also throw my hat in for Spy x Family! There's not much out right now (12 episodes) so it's not a huge commitment, and you could watch it concurrently with all of us when it comes back in October!!

moonwifi

definitely ancient magus bride

MockingByrd

There is also lots of anime like FMAB that are targeted for men but written by women, such as Blue Exorcist, Inuyasha (which is also 167 episodes), Demon Slayer, Case Study of Vanitas, Noragami, Eighty Six (which id recommend just because the main characters has similar vibes to mustang and hawkeye but reversed) etc.

spyxfamily

Karmac

General Raven's finest moment in life was having the honor to get killed by Olivier Armstrong.

Jacob

I would recommend Eureka Seven, same studio that did FMA.

Ashleigh Renee

When will the full episode be up?

Thomas McGinley

One thing I would like to point out is that all of the anime you've watched are stuff targeted for a male audience and that there's a lot of stuff targeted at women that you may enjoy. I've previously mentioned Fruits Basket, which is a supernatural drama comedy about grief and community. There's also plenty of top tier shows like Princess Tutu (my favourite show ever), which is about overcoming tragedy and self acceptance, Little Witch Academia, which is a coming of age magical fantasy with the most gorgeous animation ever, and Cardcaptor Sakura, which was my absolute favourite as a kid as well as being created by the same studio as death note. There's so much good stuff out there that goes unnoticed and I have so many I can recommend because I love love love them.

beans

My hero academia or haikyuu or maybe even seven deadly sins I recommend. I think I heard they were gonna watch Vinland saga tho but I bet there’s gonna be poll for us to vote on

vojeeisgaming

@BBT I think it’s a great show, albeit lacking depth. I think it’s fine for some reactors, not so much for others like these two

My Toasty Toast

I agree. I like Demon Salyer too, but people call it Mid Slayer for a reason. It's a good show, but not a spectacular show

Raziel_BBT

I don't mean any disrespect by this, but aside from the great animation what does Demon Slayer have? The story is basic Shounen. The characters are basic Shounen characters. The ending is Basic Shounen ending. I get that A LOT of people like it because it's recent and the animation quality is amazing but it's not worth it in my opinion.

Jay

I mean, I love Demon Slayer, but the plot pales in comparison to what they normally watch

WalloWing

Hunter X Hunter is the best choice, it's often considered one of the best right along with Fullmetal.

Jay

I think either Silver Spoon or Ping-Pong would be an excellent follow up to this series.

Luis

The Doctor who healed Kimblee was seen before in Bradley's flashback.

ColtonKP

Your lie in april

Vicente de Paulo Guimaraes Priante

Yeah I kinda agree with you.

Ten

lol, did you ended up watching episode 37? how did that go? 😂😂😂

sand_fl

RIP General Raven. He will be more useful as foundation than he ever was as a general

Raziel_BBT

SO excited for you to do episode 40 :)

riv

I was so excited for you to watch this episode!

TheTrashBandit

Definitely SOUL EATER it has a good story and maka is definitely top 10 girl main characters in anime

marco arellano

Honestly. One piece is exactly what you're looking for.

edgard

What I would give to watch the next episode already lol

Sam

Spy x Family is the definition of found family. Literally.

Andres

I would also recommend Hunter x Hunter, although it is a longer anime. But that's just more time to love some new (amazing) characters!

William Clinton

- Demon Slayer is similar with sibling dynamic and great animation, but the plot is more simplistic compared to FMAB and AOT. - Spy x Family is great for a more relaxing, fun and wholesome watch.

Steezy

Steins Gate, if you looking for POSITIVE sibling and romantic relationship that is also a gut punch, then yeah Steins gate will do it. It almost won the last poll for a reason

CirithUngol

Hunter x Hunter is a GREAT idea for you guys. It has so many things you love. Bonds, family-- with a mix of sad stuff haha

Tav

People keep recommending demon slayer but it’s not a show they would like. Yes, Tanjiro is a sweetheart but you have to think of both who the reactors are and the whole package you are telling them to watch. I say this as a demon slayer fan, there’s so many other things that they would like so much more, such as Ranking of Kings or Spy X Family

My Toasty Toast

HxH? My second favorite one after current FMAB? Yesm

Unholy

Hunter x Hunter and Demon Slayer are your best recommendations and also Vinland Saga

Dammy Oshikoya

Please watch Hunter x Hunter! I promise you will love the new boys you adopt <3

SunnyhuunS

My vote will be with Demon Slayer. I think you guys will love how kind Tanjiro is.

Registry

i'm actually curious and probably will end up watching it soon the good thing about not having watched many animes is that i always have good things in my watchlist

sand_fl

HxH is literally the best next thing they could watch after fmab and avatar, pretty similar vibes

Leo

@LM Reaction now that you mention it... i have to be up at 05:30 which is 4 hours away 😭😭 well, tomorrow i'll take a nap after work and it's all 👍🏼

sand_fl

Mid slayer

Leo

ok, in terms of recommendation i've never watched hunter x hunter but i've heard great things i really hope the demon slayer stans don't start recommending it again because it has nothing to do with avatar or fmab i like jujutsu kaisen and it has the found family trope but maybe is not for you. i do love it and the main character is adorable. yuji (main character from jjk) and al are probably the cutest anime characters for me.

sand_fl

😂😂 please get some sleep

LM Reactions

YOU GUYS WILL ADORE DEMON SLAYER....PLS GIVE IT A WATCH AFTER FMAB....PROMISE❤️❤️❤️❤️

Moon

Holyyy

Unholy

Recommendation for wholesome yet emotional anime: Hunter x Hunter. I’ll keep saying it until you start watching. Trust me.

Seni Adeyemi

i was about to go to sleep but you know what? priorities... tomorrow i'll be tired anyway 😂
