The Expnse 5x09 Full Reaction

@Zyrus You're a joke.

Gangster Pikachu

Exactly, Amos would have died there, then good luck getting off planet.

Pietro Pomella

One thing I didn't realize at first either and which confused me with the shuttle obliterating the house on launch: Eric lit the fusion drive that was supposed to be started later after the shuttle launched with some lower powered engines first.

Phil Rademacher

Small typo in the title of this post :) "Expnse"

@AlexBoss Found the misandry apologist.

Zyrus

@Zyrus You're hilarious...

Guys I'm scared for their reaction to the finale

Alex Albano

As another mentioned, please include your reaction to the Season Finale post credits on this one!!!

@Etta M Eskridge: Yeah exactly. And I think it really shows how far Avasarala has come. S1-Avasarala absolutely would have agreed with Pastor and Delgado here. Back in S1, she was pretty cruel herself, and had the same revenge/ reprisal mindset that the UN is showing in S5. She tortured a Belter in S1 (who ironically worked for Marco) simply because she could. It was personal for her back then and she blamed all Belters (or at least all OPA) for the death of her son. I think it adds a lot of credence to her stance here. We know how serious she is about wanting to hang Marco "on the hooks". And we can see how far she's come by not acting on that impulse anymore. Because of her experiences over the seasons, she knows exactly how counter productive it would be.

FWIW, on Clarissa stopping them from fighting, the authors said it wasn't supposed to be a 'mistake' even apart from any morale issues, just because they attacked later. I forget the details, but they said that the most essential people (pilot and mechanic) were up front and out in the open, it would have been a disaster.

JF

Yup better more then less. Would be a shame if they miss it .

Their reaction came off as very misandrist and is definitely making me rethink my interest in keeping up to date on them. Being a man, I have zero interest in paying misandrists to trash my gender, so this needs to be addressed for sure.

And they were right to point out that it was actually Pastor who is acting emotionally. If anyone has the right to act out of passion and anger it is Chrisjen and yet she continues to give tactical advice meant to preserve belter lives and as she says "enlist them in common cause". (hmmm sounds familiar these days!) Yes diplomacy takes time and great care but it also saves countless lives unlike the war mongers in that sit room who want to shed blood out of sheer revenge and hatred.

Credit: Sone, just made it a little more compact so it's harder to miss!

Don't miss hidden content in 5x10 and S6! - 5x10 post-credits - S6 episodes each have a "mini-episode" available via Amazon X-Ray - 6x6 post-credits

Girls in case you didn't watch episode 10 yet you might want to watch past credit , a little surprise . Same thing for episode 6 of next season ( nothing major BTW in case you missed it ) . Also just reminder ( I know it was mentioned before ) there are extra 5 mini episodes in extra bonus content called One ship that should be watched after episodes ( only episode 6 doesn't have one ... talking about Season 6 ) . They are short .. about 5 min long and you will definitely enjoy them . Would be awesome if you could react on them , but even if not do not miss them .

You guys didn't really miss anything per se when it comes to Arjun. Columbia University is in New York City, and would have been ravaged by the rock that hit Philadelphia. Avasarala has known for a while that he's almost certainly dead. We can see it on her face in the Ep. 6 scene where she's putting on her jewelry. If he survived, she would have heard something by now like she did about her daughter. This is just the first time she's really admitted it to herself. Also for what it's worth, the scene of the people leaving the War Room wasn't really meant to be a Man vs Woman thing. It was Military vs non-Military. Ty Franck has talked about it a few times. The show generally tries to avoid gendering things like that. Although the earlier line that David Pastor says about acting "emotional", was clearly a reference to workplace sexism.
