Yeah, definitely unfortunate. Honestly could have been a really interesting break from the books to end the character here, but Alex deserved a better sendoff. Imagine the speech Avasarala should have given. The forced smiles & longing glances at the party. Amos going off on a martian questioning Alex' loyalty. Bobby paying homage. Bull's callousness rubbing Holden wrong. So many little details I'm sure the writers & actors would have given us, had they had the time. But that's life I guess. Messy, sometimes painful and disappointing, but moving forward and doing the best with what we got. The meta-story almost fits in with the Expanse universe quite well, even if the plot was quite awkward.

2022-08-30 09:44:31 +0000 UTCLola I am so sorry this episode just wrecked you! I now know you know about the actor and how he ruined it for all of us but he had to go. As viewers we all knew that the actor was not cast in Season 6 but we didn't know how he was going to exit the show. So very unfortunate as Alex is a wonderful character and we all loved him. I wonder if you caught the line that Sauveterre says to Babbage: "Dishonorable discharge will be a bullet, or worse". Just a hint of what's to come in the subsequent novels. I do hope you read them as having foreknowledge of what is to come has never for one minute spoiled my enjoyment of this show. On to Season 6!!

2022-08-30 03:02:10 +0000 UTCThe only thing silly was the way I described it. It was an amazing scene. She had her suit on, but they were too far away to get to Naomi in time. Bobby's suit is a tactical assault weapon, not a jet pack. So Bobby climbed on one of the missiles, engaged her mag boots, and off she went. Another thing. If after all this time you think the writers of these novels are prone to silliness, you obviously haven't read them.
