Caraxes honestly looked like he gave Syrax and Rhaenyra a smile when they flew past him and it showed his profile. And after Syrax has landed, you can hear her chirping. A happy dragon noise.

2022-08-30 22:53:38 +0000 UTCwow, ok, didn't expect all these comments mmm, tbh since i haven't read the books i can't really give my opinion but yeah, maybe they changed the age of alicent so she a rhaenyra could be closer and as someone commented below give the subtext of 'more than friendship' without it being weird because of the age difference. changing the ages of visearys and daemon is weird ngl, i don't really see the purpose. maybe they just had some actors in mind but idk. changing laena's age like that is just weird as fuck. i guess they just wanted to shock the audiences or something but that scene was just awful to watch. isn't GRR involved in the show? maybe he agreed to all the changes, idk

What I don't like however is how they made Daemon and Visearys and look like they are in their 40s/50s instead of late 20s/early 30s. and how they made Laena look like she is 12 at most. I don't wanna get into spoilers in this comment section but If you read the book you should understand why.

Unlike George's questionable ages in the books, a grown man marrying a 15/16 year old for purpose of state was absolutely commonplace in this era. The prospect of an adult man marrying a 12 year old is supposed to disgust the viewer, and you even see on Corlys' face the mixed emotions he has seeing his baby girl courting the king. But morality has no bearing on this, only politics.

I don't consider this to be a spoiler but if you don't wanna know how old they were in the books don't continue reading. - - - - - - Alicent in the book is actually around 10 years older than Rhaenyra and only around 10 years younger than the king. Laena is around 5 years older than Rhaenyra. I'm not sure why the show writers decided to portrait the relationship as extra creepy.

2022-08-30 01:18:22 +0000 UTCi have to admit i'm a bit afraid and weary of daemon and rhaenyra (and the names spelled like that?... not even sure). according to what we know from got the targaryen married each other often to keep the bloodline or whatever, and from the first moment those two interacted i got a wrong feeling. i hope i'm just being paranoid, but i'm afraid i may be on the right track. also, am i just being lead by my instinct or it looks like the princess is a bit in love with her friend. i may be reading too much into the lines and it could only be platonic love, but i feel like rhaenyra may love alicent as more than a friend and if that's the case the recent engagement may sting even more. i do feel really sorry for alicent, she looks like she just wants to be a good daughter, but damn, marrying a man 3 times her age or so just to give your family more power must be horrible. but yeah, as bad as it sounds at least it wasn't the 12 year old. when i watched the episode this morning i completely changed my opinion on those 2 characters (sorry, can't remember the names, the ones that are married and she's the cousin of the king). i liked them in the first episode but nope, trying to offer a 12 year old to a whole ass adult man? yikes anyway, i'm going to try to get some sleep. hope that whoever posted yesterday and said she had a headache is better now ☺️
