I'd say give it another goal season 2 starts with a different focus but comes into its own by the end

Simply because as far as we've seen in FMA, you cannot create soul/mind out of thin air. Homonculus are alive because of the souls in the stones, Al is alive because of this own soul and the thing the brother brought back was alive because it had Al's soul for a short moment. So, that corpse is alive because it has a soul too. And since no one present during the alchemy died, I think it's valid to think that the only soul that could be in there is Rosalie's and that the Blind Alchemist managed to bring back her soul just enough to bind her to that corpse, like Ed was able to pull out Al's and bind him to the armor. I'd like to think that whatever is inside is really just a mindless soul though, because thinking of the actual Rosalie being stuck in there is just too sad and horrible.

2022-09-01 12:46:25 +0000 UTCAl's body is speaking and "alive" inside the portal even without a soul. So maybe it's possible for a conscious creature to not have a soul. I think the point of that episode when Ed dug up the grave of the "mom" was to establish that you can't make souls out of thin air and neither can you bring up souls of dead people.

2022-09-01 12:05:07 +0000 UTCMovies based on anime are very iffy. They are created by other studios and are in essence cash grabs. By design they bear no importance to the plot of the anime series and the worst thing about them is the artistic liberties they take in order to catch the attention of the fanbase. For instance Sacred Star of Milos completely changes the way alchemy works in FMA. The animation quality is good though. I think the girls should just finish Brotherhood and dive in the FMA stuff not written by Hiromu Arakawa only for curiosity's sake. Honestly I don't think it's even worthy of a reaction video.

Its some of the best romantic moments I've seen in a Shōnen anime (Usually Shōnen anime doesn't have good well rounded romance, if any)! When I first watched FMAB it was an extra treat knowing that there is plenty of amazing romantic scenes wit Ed, Roy, Winry, Riza, and more.

2022-08-31 23:49:21 +0000 UTCAlso! Ed's line about "I have the best automail engineer in the business, so don't you dare insult her!" Is one of the many times he's mentioned how good his mechanic is. It's very cute. He said it back when fighting the first Greed - "Is my mechanic amazing or what?" - plus has referred to her as "a great engineer" to Lan Fan, and more. It's a small thing, but very sweet. (And it's uh...not the way he would talk about her in the 03 anime. I won't say a lot about that, but it's a microcosm of my larger issues with that earlier adaptation.)

2022-08-31 23:40:54 +0000 UTCI wish there were more OVAs, there's still a few short manga side-chapters that never got adapted into anything. There's a really sweet one involving Hohenheim and Ed when Ed was little, for example. But I'm glad you both enjoyed them!
