2022-09-11 03:18:18 +0000 UTCIf I remember right, an extra detail given in notes from the author says that Madame Christmas is Roy's biological aunt (specifically on his father's side). Roy's parents died when he was young (no other information given on that), so she ended up taking him in.

2022-09-11 00:00:04 +0000 UTCFun fact about Madame Christmas. The Japanese language doesn't really have a way to make the "ch" or "st" sounds like English does. So they've made it work by using individual syllables. Christmas in Japan is クリスマス (Kurisumasu). Similarly, Mustang is マスタング (Masutangu) in order to make it sound as close as possible to the English word. Madam Christmas gets her name by taking the first part of her name, Christine (Kurisu) and the first part of Mustang (Masu). Which is funny, because the first time she was introduced, it seemed like such a silly name, but it turns out to be foreshadowing.
