Added 2023-04-27 15:49:06 +0000 UTCwe have a little bit of a dilemma. we have one slot open and we would usually put a short show but we dont have many short shows that you guys want. so we can do two things, do a poll for a shorter show (eg. sandman, firefly..) or we can do a poll for a bit of a longer show to go once a week (eg. black sails, barry..) so first tell us would you like a shorter one or a longer one and then give us some suggestions for new show to put on the poll

If you're looking for a lighthearted but passionate show, where i guarantee you will love every single character... haikyuu is for you. Oh and non anime, I would suggest alice in borderland, it is a live adaptation from a manga, and though i think it is different from anything ive seen you guys react, I still believe you will really like it, makes you theorize and crack your brain.

2023-05-03 23:49:22 +0000 UTCi suggest short anime: Violet Evergarden, it's only 12 eps and a movie as a continuation. pretty short (there's also another film but it's like a filler, not related to the main story) another short anime that no one recommended is Buddy Daddies, it's only 12 eps, but it's such a wholesome funny anime that has action mixed with it, both animes are completed btw. last suggestion, it's not an anime reaction, but an opening reaction, these are very popular on youtube and it only takes one video, i really hope you guys give it a try by reacting to One Piece Openings :')

I just watch the first episode of Oshi No Ko. Great first episode, lot of range of emotions. Don't know what to expect ep 2. Only a few episodes have aired. I actually subcribe to HIDIVE, probably would be more well known if it was on crunchyroll.

But I do think Andor would be a good exception– unlike the others, you don't really NEED to know much about the other properties to enjoy it, and its focus on character and world building honestly reminds me of Vinland Saga (at least in the first season I watched) so I'd def recommend it

For a short live action show, i’ve seen “Firefly” be suggested and that is a great short 13 episode scifi series. Ya cant go wrong with these two suggestions 😉

That being said, in terms of live action shows, unless you're watching something like Doctor Who I don't really consider shows that are around 30-40 episodes "Longer" shows. BTW Barry is AMAZING and I am sure you girls would love it. IMO it is up there with Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

The problem with long shows is the commitment, which could pose an issue if it spills into future commitments with ongoing shows. Going off of TeaDrinker's spreadsheet: - Attack on Titan (Late 2023) - Arcane (≥2024) - Black Mirror (Mid 2023) - House of the Dragon (≥2024) - Invincible (Late 2023) - Stranger Things (≥2024) - The Boys (≥Late 2023) - The Last of Us (≥2024) - The Rings of Power (≥2024) - Vinland Saga (?) I just put all the shows they've reacted to that are incomplete. I don't know all the details of which ones they said they have or haven't continuing, but this is just a list to highlight the shows A lot of these actually seem to be in 2024 or later. So as long as it's not LONG, long shows, you'll probably be fine. But there's also the factor of not just upcoming continuations but you wanting to start new shows, so having a big commitment can be irritating in that way.

And in terms of anime, I'm not sure why I never really see Spy x Family, Ranking of Kings, and Kaguya-sama recommended, I feel like those would all be lovely. And of course, gotta mention Black Sails even though I haven't seen it, just out of pity for the fans lol.

It's a 10 episode HBO mini series made by the same people as "Band of Brothers".

It’s very much has that same “art house” vibe that Vinland gives but has the thriller/mystery style of “breadcrumbs leading to grand reveals” that AoT does. It also has arguably the best written anime antagonist of all time. He’s iconic in the world of Anime. It’s phenomenal. I hope you guys get to see it someday if you haven’t.

2023-04-27 19:39:40 +0000 UTCI stopped watching the show because I just couldn't take it anymore that our 40 year old main character tries to rape defenseless sleeping 7 to 12 year old girls almost every episode and all the characters, both the parents and the girls themselves, and the society portrayed in the anime consider it completely normal and even applaud him for it. If this at least had consequences, if it was portrayed in the world as something bad or disgusting, and if the characters reacted and acted accordingly and logically, I might be able to appreciate the show, but in its current state it's just unbearable. I'm very sure, should this show ever win the poll, they will cancel the show before the episode count gets into double digits.

That's not to say they haven't watched popular shows before, but this Patreon community has been pretty good at recommending shows that LM would definitely love, as opposed to ongoing shows that everyone is talking about. That's not to say they won't watch Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw-Man, Oshi no Ko, Spy x Family, etc. someday, but they might want to wait until the shows are further along. I think it's nice to have at least one reaction channel that doesn't rush to the party on whatever series is super popular in the moment.

I can't watch some show and ignore the other and both of them have the same issue that will make me a hypocrite.
