I realized that after I started typing

Nathan Elkin

That wasn't simple at all.

Shivering King Banana

Yeah, I get what you mean. In this case though, I specifically meant intentionally use Nen. Not that Nen doesn't need intention. So, you can either intentionally use Nen because you're aware of it and mastered it, or you can unintentionally use Nen because you don't know about it. In either case, it still flows through you.

ODIS

TL;DR version: Nen = superpowers based on a character's personality

Orr Malus

You had trouble predicting Mob and Vinland. Sometimes the best stories are the ones that keep you guessing.

Nathan Elkin

you can still intend to do something unconsciously. Nen can work whether you're conscious or not, but it comes from intention... which can turn into muscle memory

Nathan Elkin

I'm going to make it as simple as possible to understand. Unlike the real world, HunterXHunter is a world where your intentions are just as important, if not more important, than the actual action performed. Nen is intention, and the stronger the intent, the stronger the action. The reason someone might be stronger than someone else comes down to how you interpret your intentions (and how it compares to opposing intentions). One's potential is a matter of familiarity with said intentions. If you have never killed someone but you suddenly have to shoot someone, you might intend to do it but it probably won't feel natural. But say you are going to kill someone for the first time because they killed your entire family. It could suddenly feel like the most natural thing in the world. Time and perspective is all it takes to change your abilities, and sometimes it can happen in an instant. Nen is the truest extension of the human experience put into a battle system. It's essentially your personality physically personified.

Nathan Elkin

this ja very good and very accurate 😂😂

LM Reactions

well, there are few clear cases of chekhovs gun in later stuff .

Edgar

2 eps a week is good . You dont want to burn out on something like hxh.

Edgar

Gotta say i am just enjoying how much you are picking up what the show is giving. And a lot of people cant even comprehend nen system in first eps , but it seems you clearly understand everything that has been showed so far.

Edgar

Lola, your question was answered by Wing when he said that all people possess NEN, and those with awakened Nen are often people we know as geniuses, musicians, star athletes, etc. So, yes, Nen is your awakened life force and can be applied however you wish (consciously/intentionally or not).

ODIS

I just want it to be said, Nen will not be the sole reason someone’s character changes. They always had the potential for it, the show just takes its time to show you what it takes for someone to do something.

Nathan Elkin

Wing told Zushi (and our boys later) why Zushi can't use REN specifically yet. It's because he first needs to train Ten more in order to be able defend himself. His soul isn't strong enough yet, basically. So, Zushi is only prevented for his own benefit.

ODIS

This series doesn’t really follow the principle of “Chekhov’s Gun”, there isn’t exactly a follow through on everything that gets introduced.

Theria

"why couldn't kurapika come here?!" 😊 ⛓️

Owen Zuranski

Yesss lol. Good comparison it is. Thorkell is a murdering machine, that's biggest difference imo. They both like good challenge, good fights, they both are stubborn, they both respect and value loyalty.

Vivasvan Gautam

We're not gonna get more than 2 episodes per week. Their target is 2 episodes per week. Sorry, that's the reality and their contract with us patreons. Girls already have enough on their plates.

Vivasvan Gautam

This is incredible

Vicente de Paulo Guimaraes Priante

I love how they're convos on this went from "of course he'll win he's the main character" to "I don't know, maybe he won't pass."

Shivering King Banana

Same with hisoka lol

Amber

I’m assuming it’s because it’s much easier to travel in European countries…also given the nature of their job, it makes sense that they can travel and edit/upload. But yeah, I don’t see why this even needs to be brought up? Let them live lmao

Harfie

please, do blocs of 2 episodes, it would be like an small tv show episode of 40 minutes, it's better for hunterxhunter i promise

Shaolin H

fantastic, bravo

This is a little late but I drew a little homage to a bygone era: https://i.imgur.com/Fakvkus.jpg

Also, to summarize what we have learned about Nen so far: Ten - To surround your body in your aura/life energy. Used for defensive purposes and it was also mentioned that it can slow the effects of aging. Zetsu - To stop any aura from flowing outward, the opposite of Ten. Used to conceal your presence and recover from fatigue. Ren - To rapidly generate a lot of aura to be used with Hatsu. Hatsu - To use your aura to do "something". Whether it's a direct attack, or just being really good at something like the examples given by Wing, (musician, chef, politician were I believe some examples that were shown). Hatsu is basically just the term for doing anything with Nen. The extent of this will be explained in much more detail throughout this arc and in the future.

Oak

Not them skipping Gon and Killuas Hunterpedia!

Antonio

The sideeye way people constantly bring up their holidays in the comments all the time is such bullshit

Jay Craig

Just checking that you guys didn't forget about Hunterpedia!

Camzeee

I think it's less that learning Nen compelled Gon to fight, and more that it enabled him to act on an existing impulse.

Oak

You guys keep thinking about Gon as a very innocent child but at this point you guys should consider he might be a bit masochist. He reminds me a bit to Thorkel from Vindland Saga to the fact he likes to fight in order to improve himself but I gotta feeling he enjoys the danger and pain sometimes.

Jack SV

I love that my fav anime has you girls baffled, hindsight is funny cause I feel let everything is so obvious looking back

Justin Spencer

Girls, when are you NOT traveling...? I get surprised that you can film 1 month worth of content in the 3 days of the month you are not abroad...

Izaya

I like the analysis of Nen possibly corrupting people. Nen is crazy powerful and that's why Wing said their potential was amazing but also terrifying. But we've also already seen that Gon has a little bit of Psycho in him even though he is a sweet boy lol
