Simply knowing a name doesn't spoil anything, the same as seeing a character design in the OP or ED doesn't spoil anything. But I agree that setting expectations DOES spoil, because it interrupts their genuine reaction by giving them expectations of how they should feel. So just saying Shalnark's name doesn't take away a single thing from the experience of discovering the show.

"I didn't say if that actually happens, so it's not a spoiler." At least put "SPOILER" in your comment. Imagine encouraging a comment section where everyone is spouting future character names. Even if you don't think it's a spoiler, imagine how that encourages a relaxed environment where the less conscientious among us says something that everyone agrees is a spoiler and they end up reading the comment.
