about sexism in One Piece, as a huge fan of One Piece, i do agree that the anime does have some sexism elements to it like the character designs and how some characters are perverts towards the female characters (which are not a lot, about 3-4 in the whole show) however, the female characters are way more interesting than a lot of animes out there, like there are animes that aren't sexist yes, but doesn't have the well written female characters or more focus on them anyways. but all of one piece female characters have their own story and their own goal that has nothing to do with another man or " throwing themselves in men's arms" One Piece is WONDERFUL when it comes to writing characters, that includes the female characters, they may be sexualized, but all of them have a well established backgrounds and personalities, ALL OF THEM including the one girl that loves the MC has an actual personality and is actually a strong independent woman that happens to be in love with MC As a woman who also hates sexism and dropped some animes bc of that, One Piece just like any other media out there it has some flaws and isn't perfect, but it's still SO worth of watching

I dont think the person who made the Japanese channel is doing anything wrong to be clear - but I think if I were in their position I would embrace it, and probably try to partner up with the person in some way - also I'd want to interact in some way with my Japanese fans haha, even if it's just a quick 2-3 minute video message sent directly to the channel owner to translate. It's wild to think that there's this potentially massive untapped audience of people following you that you may not even know about.

Good points. I just think they would ABSOLUTELY LOVE the storyline and most of of the characters in the show, even if they would hate one or two. But I can't disagree about it being too long for they style of videos. It's my fav anime, and they're some of the best reactors I've seen, so that's just I personal wish of mine lol.

The problem with One Piece for me is the sexist portrayal of women and the often disgusting reactions certain characters have to them. Also, the behavior of many adult characters seems very childish. Simply because they already strictly rejected this in Death Note with Misa, I wouldn't want to subject them to One Piece. Also, the episode count of over 1000 is simply too much. There is the Fan Project One Pace, which halves the watch time, but as I said, I can't really imagine that they would have much fun with the show. For the same reason, I can't really put Naruto to them either, whereas Naruto Shippuden did it much much better. It has similar problems with sexism, however here the fan project "Naruto Ocean Cut" also cut the watch time down to 1/3 and cut out a lot of those unnecessary scenes, also because they are not important to the plot. Should they react to Naruto at some point, then I would rather recommend the Ocean Cut to them, although the editing effort here is enormous. The Ocean Cut has only 94 episodes, but the episodes are also 60 to 150 minutes long and more or less movies.

Ha. A different kind of double date. But I would say that it can be understood purely friendly. I had also asked myself how I would react if I were to meet them somewhere spontaneously. I think I would just leave them alone and find it amusing how small the world is. I always find it surreal when fans of actors want hugs, autographs and conversation when these celebrities are just shopping or walking somewhere. They don't know you, only you know them. I don't want to push them or impose myself on them when they are on vacation or visiting friends/family. Even a short conversation with greetings, introductions, asking how they are doing and if they are enjoying their time here in country/city XY with a goodbye at the end and wishing them a nice day feels somehow intrusive? I always find that kind of thing kind of difficult to handle properly.

What are your thoughts on the youtube channel that reuploads your anime reactions with Japanese subtitles? Some of the videos get hundreds of thousands of views (the reaction to episode 1 of Attack on Titan has over 1 million views), and it seems like the Japanese viewers even have their own nicknames for you (Think they call Milena 'Glasses sister' for example)

Tokyo Ghoul is great if the story hadn't been so terribly adapted. It's as if Warner Bros. said after the first Harry Potter movie: "That went over well! But for the second movie, we're not going with the book, we're going with fan fiction, where Harry is taught snake magic by snake people on Mars, because you know, he can talk to snakes and stuff." And then when they realized what a load of crap they had produced, for the third movie they just jumped straight to book 5 and told the whole story with the end of book 7, but cut out Voldemort because he's not that important. I don't know what went wrong with the production committee, but that was really a complete disaster. Only The Promised Neverlands has managed to adapt a story even worse. Fortunately, at least season 1 is complete, so you don't have to watch the rest.

Before Avatar Studios was formed, I would have also asked for a "reaction" or review to the first Avatar comics (especially the story behind Zuko's mother and Azula's development). But currently, I think even an adaptation of the comics is realistic, and I think that's the best possible experience to relive the story. Therefore, let's wait and see. The comics and their story is not running away.

Death Note is sort of a must watch, but I myself am not a fan of the plot development in this too. An ending with episode 25 or a little later with the collapse of Light from episode 37 would have been my favorite.

We long-term fans can actually answer that. We gave them Avatar and after that they were open to Attack on Titan. And almost everyone who gets into the anime shows with Attack on Titan stays there for a while.
