Then how can you compare it to Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul which you have seen from beginning to end? The essential part of the show is in Season 3 and 4. You will only get the full picture if you watch the entire thing. I personally place it above BB and BCS because Mr. Robot is much more impactful for me and has a deeper message. I also disagree about the writing part, because it is masterfully written with extreme detail and maintains a high quality during its entire run. The unreliable narrator thing is not there to confuse the viewers, it has an important role in the show. So everything you see in the beggining until Season 2 is there for a reason. Having a different taste is one thing, but it does not make the show any less.

2023-01-02 22:19:07 +0000 UTC@Luffy - It has worse writing, the directing/visual style is not as good, actors other than Rami are not as strong. There you go. Again, my opinion. I don't think it's anywhere close to the mastery of storytelling by Gilligan/Gould. It's the writing really, for me. Esmail's style just doesn't appeal to me because I can't invest in the other characters or the world when I'm struggling to grasp what is happening or what isn't since it's all told from Elliott's unreliable perspective.

2023-01-02 09:39:06 +0000 UTCPatreon is a subscription service so if the copyrighted videos aren't hosted on their site directly it's not their problem but Vimeo's. Best practice would be uploading the unedited video on one Vimeo account and the audio only on another account. It's only a matter of time until Vimeo deletes the copyrighted files but in that timeframe up-to-date patreons will get the chance to view it. For patreons who want to check out older videos the audio only vids will still be available for them. Also someone needs to actually file a copyright complaint in order to take down the Vimeo videos. The people who hold the rights to anime shows turn a blind eye on websites hosting their content because they consider it as free promotion. If YT didn't have an automated copyright detection system then it would be full of whole unedited anime shows, as it was the case years ago.

He literally edits nothing for full length, leaving the entire video in his reaction with full volume. As a viewer, I prefer his way over any other, and he's been doing it for about as long as this channel, but with probably 3x the number of reactions. All I'm saying is you won't get in trouble from Patreon unless it's straight up porn because to Patreon, they want people to get paid for doing things the way the creator likes to create. But for anyone who has trouble with watching their own copy with a reaction, just add a PiP (picture-in-picture) extension to your browser. Some systems like Linux don't like PiP and a second video in full screen, but the majority of computers have no problem playing one video in full screen (the reaction video) and a second video (PiP) on top of the first one at the same time. I cover their copy with my PiP copy and use the vague colors of their blurred out version to synch to my own. I wish they didn't include the audio from their copy, but that can't be helped because of how they record without headphones. That, or if they had their volume loud enough for me to mute the volume on my own copy. I like to be invested in the music and voice acting, so I usually have the audio on my copy just barely louder than their reaction, but it's hard to balance at times.

The audio for the full episode blasting in the video, some of which are uploaded to YT (yeah they're unlisted but would still get caught), and the edited reactions still show *a lot* of the episode and don't cut out that much. With a channel their size the only explanation I can think of is either luck or the fact that they have such long intros and discussions that it masks it somehow.

But it is technically against copyright, so they are just being 'safe'. Even though it's not like they use official sources either all the time lmao

I read something that if you label it as critique, review, parody, or research it's more reasonable. Since their discussions are really long I would think it's *ok*. I'm probably wrong tho.
