I'm just saying it's not one clear overarching plot like FMAB, AoT, etc. It was my first experience with a longer, multi-arc anime (as it will be for them I believe), and it was surprising to me how much it felt almost like an entirely new show at times, but I liked every direction it went in, and the characters and their incredibly powerful arcs were a strong throughline connecting it all.

Although the suggestion to throw out the whole Poll completely, because 2 of YOUR favorites are losing is a rather peculiar and new one to me lol It is quite obvious and apparent, If you've watched all their reactions, that HunterxHunter and Haikyuu (everything they've praised in the mob reactions/reviews particularly is right there with Haikyuu 1000%) are two series that potentially possess all the necessary ingredients that they are looking for in shows. Same goes for Monster and Steins/Gate, but people are trying their hardest to make it seem like HxH is not gonna be for them. HxH is gonna win and be here for a while and I'm looking forward to them watching/discussing/enjoying or criticizing it for next Year and a half :) On the other hand I'm still amazed that people are recommending shows like Code Geass that have fanservice/ecchi compilations that are 15+ minutes long !!?? It's a good and entertaining show, but y'all gotta know them by now and what they looking for and what they're definitely not looking for

I get that not all of you may like it as much as other things, but clearly a lot of people love it and it's a show they'll have to get to at some point (it's top 3 anime and top 10 shows ever to me, so I'm biased, but I'm trying not to be). And I get that it's a longer show, but if they keep prioritizing short shows they'll never get to it, because there's endless shows to watch. So wouldn't it just make sense for it to get this twice a week slot? And for people saying they wouldn't like it that much, come on. Yes, it's got distinct arcs, which they haven't really done before, and I can see how some who desire a tight plot might be put off by that, but they're far more character-focused than plot-focused watchers, and that's where the show really excels. And it's not just fights wtf! Another one of the show's biggest strengths is not relying heavily on fighting, and making each fight feel different and revealing about the characters.

It feels too all over the place for me and lacks that strong emotional core to guide it like Vinland or FMAB have. Haikyuu has the action, the directing, the themes, the kick-ass soundtrack. But most importantly of all it has heart, and the characters guide the show 100%.

Because of the way it's written, its quality leads more towards something like Avatar and FMA instead of typical shounen like Naruto and Bleach to me. I do think it can be slow in parts, but slow in the same way that Better Call Saul was. HxH relaxes to explore and develop its characters, and that just makes the most intense moments hit REALLLY hard.

I not saying they’d love the power system cause of what action and fight scenes Nen is gonna bring ik they don’t care about that, I meant they’d probably like it cause of how balanced and sensible Nen is compared to other anime power systems. I remember that some people were very adamant that they wouldn't like Mob Psycho because it was "just a shonen" or something. Shows like Mob and FMA make full use of the anime artstyle and they can't really be translated properly into a medium like film. Monster however can be easily made into a live-action show without losing any of its appeal.

I think they will probably react to those specials show in extra to whatever they are watching. If we say that they have 7 slots during a week, that's 2 anime + 2 live-action (one biweekly and one weekly of each), and there's one more slot that can be used for that.

There's even a possibility that Season 3 of Invincible will come out this year, as the tentative release window was said to be 2023 (prior to S2 being delayed). Not to speak on their behalf, but I think it's safe to say they'll be watching those. This means HxH could potentially return to 1 episode a week. Or they might use Vinland's slot (when it finishes) to fill the new seasons instead. If they do the latter, it could potentially be a looooong time before we see another animated show poll.

I don't know if anyone suggested it yet, but I think you guys would really like The Promised Neverland season 1 (ignore season 2 as it was completely botched in the anime). Season 1 can be watched as a stand-alone and it's only 12 episodes, you get both a female protagonist and great female antagonist.

I think all 4 shows are awesome and by the end of your time as reactors these are 4 shows you absolutely should have watched at some point. That being said, I am still heartbroken that this means we're gonna have to wait another year for Haikyuu. I think thematically with what you are asking for after mob, and what Haikyuu's strengths are as a show it's pretty tragic that it isn't going to win. The feelings that you talk about in your review of the Mob Psycho finale are what Haikyuu brought up in me, while HxH was a very enjoyable show in the vein of say, Fullmetal (but not as good in my opinion, and HxH falters because it's also still unfinished.)

2023-01-14 00:55:20 +0000 UTCHaikyuu has the same warmth/soul as Mob and is so inspirational, wholesome and has an endless amount of great charachters (which is why the mob/Haikyuu fandoms are so close and intertwined) and it would make SO much sense as the Mob replacement, but HxH would make for an incredible journey and they are gonna love either one. Monster will never win a poll unfortunately, but lets hope for a miracle in the future. Lets' be civil in the comments and just look forward to them hopefully enjoying whatever wins <3

HxH I feel may be too long to react to with 1 episode per week (3 years to complete basically). Steins gate is a great second not too short not too long excellent story but slow start. Haikyuu is amazing too but probably third with HxH being last. PS. I like all of these shows don’t mind which one wins the poll

Only one season so far but it's insanely popular. The main character even has a lot of overlap with Mob. Can't believe nobody suggested it yet.
