But it was all very well done, and I really liked what he said about Askeladd being lonely, and Askeladd in turn confirming that Bjorn is his only friend right as he kills him… :( Then of course there’s the reunion with Leif. It really does hit you how much time has passed and how much these people have changed. Really looking forward to the rest of your reactions.

2023-01-19 19:37:10 +0000 UTCAskeladd always wins, he always comes on top, we haven't seen him lose since that duel between him and thors, yet despite all of this, it still feels empty and cold. Everything works out for him, but it does not give him happiness and joy. He has breathed, lived, eated, laughed with people he hated for atleast 10-15, maybe 20 years. Just like thorfinn has been with him for 11 years . Although askeladd got a chance to move beyond that hate and become part of something that he dreamed of since his childhood.

I really loved that Bjorn, a gravely wounded Viking in his final moments, instead of grabbing his sword to die with a weapon in his hand, grabbed Askeladd and demanded an answer from him before dying. No wonder Askeladd couldn't keep up his facade any longer when that happened. Funny when you consider that at first Askeladd just wanted to send Bjorn off without any proper goodbye.
