It’s just a suggestion for them. They can decide to watch it or not. Am just given them heads up so they can enjoy the story more and there is no harm on that. Plus you can’t compare season 1 of Vinland saga with season 2.

It just reveals something that you had to discover at the end of the episode. To be honest the opening should’ve start after the end of the first episode like any normal anime.

I consider Vinland to be perfectly narrated story, have no complaints whatsoever and at the same time all the little additions that were made in anime by the studio WIT just makes it more and more better. So excited for finale and then season 2.

They don't always follow it perfectly, but it should at least give you an idea of the order of release.
