Because of their cooperation with fsociety it's easy to forget that Elliot and Darlene don't have the best relationship, and in Angela's words were never really that close. Meanwhile, Elliot and Angela were close childhood friends who stayed in touch as adults, as opposed to Darlene who left the picture and only reconnected with Elliot about a month before the first episode of the whole show. I'm glad you're enjoying Angela! I agree -- from S3 onwards she feels like a whole new character, and when I first watched I was completely focused on her whenever she was in a scene with other characters. The whole intrigue about her psyche dominates every scene for me. And I'm glad you appreciate the morally grey nature of her (Dark Angela, I guess? haha), the girls seem very upset at how she's treating Elliot -- which is understandable, but I love the complex nature of it. Of the core characters she always felt like the odd one out and a bit of an outsider but now she's thrust right into the center of all the mystery and plot. It's great

can't watch the discussion until tonight but what a start for the new season. i admit sci.fi was not something i was expecting to have in this show but i trust the creator knows what he's doing so i'll just go along with it. angela is a fascinating character. i think i personally liked her more before but the more grey angela becomes the more intriguing and captivating she becomes. but also, the more morally grey she becomes the more i think she's going to end up dead by the end of the show or maybe even before. to be honest the only main character i think will survive for sure is darlene. i think angela has a high possibility of dying and elliot could die or could live, 50/50. though if now they're introducing parallel univers, time travel or somethin like that my predicions are worth shit. i missed dom this episode. funny how a character that was only introduced in season 2 has become so important to me that i feel her absence even if she's not in just one episode. i do not know how to intepret that "you're the only one i can trust right now". for a second i was like, 'fuck you, what about your sister?' but that would be hypocritical of me since i have to feeling that she's in contact with dom. at least that's the impression i got from that scene in the bathroom and then when that guy said that what she was staring was an fbi car. also, that conversation with elliot gave me the impression that she was trying to get elliot to say that tyrell was involved and maybe she's wearing a mic. idk, i don't think she'd turn on elliot but she looked scared shitless, so i wouldn't count it out. anyway, great episode and can't wait to hear your thoughts on the discussion.

But Obama is still the president for them at this point of the show. Elliot is smarter than you guys give him credit for. When Darlene was in his apartment, the device he puts down is one that generates noise to disrupt any audio surveillance. It happens a couple other times in season 2 when Joanna and her bodyguard are discussing the guy they killed, you can see the same device being used. Honestly it's great that you're concerned about the direction it's taking. That's part of the experience. Esmail is very careful with what he tells you, he knew that when he introduced these storylines it would scare the audience, what you're feeling now is how he wants you to feel. The sequence at the end of this episode is so beautiful, I watched it like 5 times on youtube in preparation for this episode lmao. The build up with the music, the cut to show Elliot instead of Mr Robot "I'm looking right at him", the sudden power coming back on. The work they've done in building up Angela's character is so good, you don't necessarily understand her but you believe her, her relationship with Elliot, her cold professionalism to Mr Robot. What a show! I forgot the order of episodes so I looked up the rest of this season and.... I have no words, I'm just excited as hell! Best reaction series to an incredible show.

I see it more as an unconscious self-defence mechanism, rather then self-hatred. Apart from Elliot, it doesn't seem like Angela has many friends, and she doesn't look for it, break up with Ollie didn't really affect her as well. All goes back to the fact that the most important person in her life died for no reason, which messed her up to the point that she can't let go till this day.

Season 3 is a much better improvement over season 2. Season 4 is the best of the entire series. I promise this show won't disappoint. It's in my top 10 all-time list and I've seen a lot of TV shows. Can't wait for your season 3 reactions, and especially season 4. It was obvious watching season 3 and 4 that the writers had a clear vision for the entire show from the start. Season 3-4 is where things become less confusing, less dark, and at times, very wholesome.

The final scene with Angela introduced me to "Touch" with rapidly became one of my favorites. The song complements the scene wonderfully as she talks about her new perspective and reasons for doing what she's doing, and the music is both beautiful but with a sense of foreboding, as if it's seeing things from her new "hopeful" perspective while also treating it as something worth being concerned about.
