I don't feel for her any less, it's just sad that she's allowed her desire for reconnection with her mother to make her psychologically malleable. Am I the only one who loved the Mr. Robot character from the beginning? I know he's framed as an antagonist for the most part - and with good reason - but in addition to having some of the best lines in the show, it's clear that he's trying to help. He loves Elliot as much as either Darlene or Angela and let's be honest, he knows Elliot far better than they do. Hell, he knows Elliot better than Elliot knows himself. Although it's warped and convoluted, he might the the only means by which Elliot is capable of self love.

It's interesting that you guys think someone is safe because of romatic shipping from fans. I have seen ships of two characters that only interacted for one episode and then one of them dies. When the chemistry is there people will ship them and make fan stuff of them.

Season 2 is when we begin focusing on her more and her struggles but this season really puts her in a vulnerable situation where it feels hopeless (Like Angela was in Season 2, and like Elliot has been in... every season). The small scenes of the siblings talking, like on the pier in 3x2 and this episode when they talk about their "vengeance pack" are some of the most touching moments in the show. I really like the final sequence, the single shot and walking in/out of focus is so Mr Robot, lol. Also when she walks into the apartment and Elliot is just sitting on the chair reminds me of the iconic entrance shot in The Silence of the Lambs. Elliot can be scarier than Mr Robot, honestly. I don't have much to say about Tyrell that I didn't cover in last episode for my thoughts on his psychology. This episode is sort of like the breaking point for all that set-up. The last episode, when he demonstrated still wanting to prove himself to his family, showed that Tyrell at his core is motivated by validation. So even though it took one episode to go from "I will always be loyal to Elliot" to "Our partnership is over!", his fickleness very much makes sense and as you've said is just hilarious. Also, your enjoyment of Irving is so contagious. The bar scene with Dom and Darlene was cute too. I love Darlene's dry tone when she says "You're from Jersey, you don't fucking say -- which part?". The girl is really trying to force a sense of normalcy, and it's a funny reversal of when Dom tried to relate to her in the S2 finale and the contrast to Darlene's response then ("We're just two wacky Jersey girls") compared to now. I like how both moments are equally sarcastic, but one of them is dismissive and the other is desperately trying to latch onto the conversation. I was thinking the same thing with that Angela moment where she asks Elliot if she's going to the party. S1 vibes. From Allsafe to E Corp. It's so funny/scary the way Angela smiles at him suspiciously when asking what was on his screen. The next episode is one of my favorites of the whole show! Stay focused 👀

Tyrell is important to the plan for the reasons that Milena said but to summarise: he's a capable enough engineer, he was a very senior tech executive at e-corp for years and knows their entire stack inside and out, and probably most important of all: he's 100% dedicated to the project and his funny little idea of him and his subtextual boyfriend "becoming gods", which means he'll do anything to make the plan succeed. In 3x0 (3x1) Whiterose tells her assistant of Elliot/Mr Robot “We need his unadulterated, focused rage.” Tyrell definitely has some of that. It's mr robot's plan. It's mr robot's work. He is, as he put it, the architect. But someone has to actually sit down and do the work, do all the research, write the code, setup the hardware and plan the operation. Architects need builders, and Tyrell has been the one actually building Stage 2 for many months: while elliot was in prison and couldn't access a computer, and now during the daytime when Elliot is in control. If Tyrell wasn't an option the Dark Army wouldn't stop, they'd find an alternate solution, but he is the best option right now: he's easy to manipulate (Irving plays him so hard as you pointed out) and is, to an extent, expendable.

2023-02-09 01:51:06 +0000 UTCelliot and tyrell's ship sinking just as darlene and dom's start sailing lol elliot and tryrell's "break up" is hilarious to me. tyrell is going through it right now. he's in the 'i thought he was the one' phase atm, let's see how that progress. look, i know important shit is happening... but my gay ass can only focus on darlene and dom right now. i hope it's not just hinting and they actually have something. i'm not that hopeful that it'd had a happy ending but tbh i'd be happy with crumbs if that's the only thing we'll get. currently i can only see angela or dom dying of the main cast. elliot i'm not sure; i wouldn't say i'm completely certain he'll survive but the chances of him dying are slim in my opinion. i honestly don't know why but i'm 95% sure darlebe is surviving this. maybe it's ptsd of another show and hopeful thinking that the sister of the main character who happens to be my favourite will sirvive this time unlike in another show i love. angela is the same to me this episode. i still think she's a fascinating character and i'm at the endge of my seat every moment she's on screen but i lost some of the affection i had for her. i'm happy she doesn't think there will be casualties but still... irving is a top tier character and amazing at reading people and manipulating them. great addition to the show.

Episodes 5 through 8 are arguably the best batch of episodes of the entire series (on par with a certain batch of episodes still to come in Season 4). Eps 5 & 6 specifically are pure entertainment and some of the best work Sam Esmail has done on the show.

And seeing Dom and Darlene finally interact on a more personal level is also one of my faves as well, they have a fun dynamic It's not super emphasized but Tyrell is a genuinely good hacker and was compromised enough to work with the Dark Army after he got reported by Gideon. That's his main worth, though one could argue that his instability makes him a burden....but then there's Irving to handle it I think all the episodes after this til the end of the season is my favorite of the entire show, super excited!
