@T0ast Did they say that or are you just assuming it? I didn't hear anything concrete about it

Brendan

hmmm... probably not. It would be more them learning how to game again rather than them learning about the story and characters. It's not an easy game.

Nathan Elkin

I would 100% watch that if they played it. I think they would love it.

Melkor

LOL I would totally watch these two do gameplay

JackLover19

Would actually love you guys to stream or make a video about playing the game. I know it’s unlikely but feels like a great game for you both to try if you continue to like the show.

Trevor Gallucci

@LM Reactions Milena, it seems like everyone here doubts you can do it. Time to man up and prove them wrong! "Amnesia: The Dark Descent" playthrough, you can do it. Let's goooo!

Orr Malus

Imagine Milena playing something like P.T. I genuinely think she’d be at a risk of a complete mental collapse

Kara the gamer girl from Mars

lola's worst nightmare? (i know he's a cricket but tbh i can't tell the difference bettweeb a grasshopper and a cricket so i asume she's afraid of crickets too https://knowyourmeme.com/photos/2429278-disney

sand_fl

OMG I love grasshoppers... I don't like them in my house or anything but if I see one I just grab him and put him outside lol

Mobiggs

Games these days can be pretty cinematic. They tell stories in what's called "cutscenes" - it's basically watching the story in a cinematic format that last for a couple minutes. Some games even have cutscenes up to 20-30 minutes which it's basically like watching an episode of TV show or anime. The Last of Us has quite a lot of cutscenes throughout the game to tell its story. So you basically watch a cutscene, then you control the character for the gameplay part. Then you get to another point of the game then another cutscene plays and the cycle continues until you reach the end of the game which usually will give you a longer "ending cutscene" to end the game and its story.

Yic17

How is that spoilers? Lola literally touched on it in the post-ep discussion. They already picked up on how it spread.

Caomhan84

I love the discussion and theorizing on how video games "function" lol

enchantertim

Respect for thinking of a game with genuine atmospheric horror rather than a more popular jumpscare factory with no real finesse to it. :P But yeah, I can't see Milena surviving that ordeal!

TeddyBearBonfire

😂 just imagine she playing Amnesia OMG

phantom rouge

well said.

Ben Trotter

For Ellie not being the only one with some immunity- sure, probably true, but it would be almost impossible to identify anyone that might be immune. It's assumed an immediate death sentence to be bitten, and one that endangers anyone around you. An immune person would have to not: be torn apart by clickers etc, be killed by humans over food/possessions etc, just die of normal things like dyssentary/starvation/bad flu when they don’t have functioning medical systems etc…. And THEN be bitten, but not be killed or kill themself to avoid turning. Most wouldn’t wait to see if you turn.

RocktSurgeon

She would literally die playing that game. lol Are you a sadist or what? That game is horrifying.

Melkor

That makes sense. I can see them going that route since it’s a longer game.

Bushido Black

@Melkor yeah, the second i heard that noise i was like "no way those things sound like that creepy woman". and tbh as scary as clickers are... i prefer them to that woman. i haven't watch that movie in YEARS and it still scares me. and the child? i believe there's a scene on an elevator with the child and i refused to use the elevator for years 😂

sand_fl

Good lord, you trying to kill the poor girl?

Bryce

Unfortunately, there wont be. Netflix said it's too expensive.

Steven Jeanrolus

It's funny you ask that because just today David Fincher said in an interview that there will not be a 3rd season as it was too expensive for Netflix for the viewship numbers it was getting.

Bryce

OK, real talk. What do I have to do in order to get Milena to play "Amnesia: The Dark Descent"?

Orr Malus

i watched the first season in one day when it came out and forgot about what happened when season two came out and that’s why i never played it , but ill rewatch s1 one day so i could watch the second one .. is that it for the show or will there be a third season?

LM Reactions

No it's not. None of these are spoilers because this is stuff you can on your own figure out after having watched this ep.

Melkor

they said the second game would be 2 seasons

T0ast

dude this is spoilers for next episode

T0ast

Good explanation without revealing spoilers. I personally as someone who has played the games think it’s been extremely well adapted so far with some changes but they don’t ruin or change very huge things. I do have some things I wish they kept exactly like the game but so far I think it’s been majority good. And the first game is a damn masterpiece. Regarding TLOU part 2 that game got a lot of mixed responses and I’m not gonna explain them but it’s extremely loved and extremely hated basically. Not much of a middle ground on that game.

Melkor

Yep 👍

Melkor

Lmao I have never heard someone compare clicker notices to the Grudge noice but I can see why you would. XD

Melkor

Just gonna add some small bits of info. There are diffrent stages of infection and you saw the clicker stage in this one in which the host is dead by this time and they have also grown blind. The earliest stage which are called runners in the game are still techincically people that are alive but their brains are completely not normal basically. lol So if it is an early infected dont call these things zombies because they are far from that.

Melkor

There are two The Last of Us games. Part 1 and Part 2. I think the co-director/writer of the game said that season 1 is only going to adapt the first game and season 2 will adapt the sequel.

Bushido Black

It's only two seasons but Mindhunter is among Anna Torv best work.

Steven Jeanrolus

Since you asked about the game in the review it is a narrative action-adventure game where you play as Joel. You control him while exploring the world and engaging in combat and there are many cinematic cutscenes throughout the game in which the story unfolds. The game was created using motion capture and some of the actors who played the characters in the game have some small cameos in the show. The show is a very faithful adaptation so the story in the game pretty much plays out the same way. Some scenes in the show are even word-for-word the same as some of the cutscenes in the game. The show does make some changes from the game which have generally been very well received so far. The creator of the game, Neil Druckmann, is co-showrunner with Craig Mazin who did the Chernobyl miniseries. If you are interested you can find compilations on YouTube of all the cutscenes and important story bits put together in one video and basically watch the story like a very long animated movie. I'd wait until after this season to do that obviously, but you'll be able to see how good of an adaptation this is. There is also a second game called The Last of Us Part II that continues the story. This season is only adapting the 1st game and the show has already been renewed for at least a second season. There are rumors the second game will take 2 seasons to adapt and that there is a Part 3 to the games in the works but none of this is confirmed yet. These are extremely popular games, especially the first one, often considered one of the best stories of all time in not just gaming but all media so I would suggest not looking up anything about them as spoilers are very easy to find!

I think the Boston Quarantine Zone had arou d 10,0000 people left (from current population ~700k in the city itself) around the time of the game/show. And that 10k left would include a lot who came in from surroundings for relative safety. Settlements outside of big goverent started quarantine zones seem to all be far far smaller, but I don't think there's much detail ever given. Something like half the world population died in the first few months poat outbreak. And not much said about the rest of the world, society seems to have collapsed enough at least in the US I'm not sure they even really know for sure though they'd probably pick up some radio. And FEDRA is basically a fictional version of the real US disaster response agency FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) which would have had jurisdiction to use national guard soldiers to enforce quarantines. So it's a nation wide thing.

RocktSurgeon

FUCK YOU MILENA YOU JUMPSCARED ME. Rude

Melkor

The clickers make that clicking noise as a form of echolocation.

Bryce

They mentioned it started at a flour and grain factory. Remember how many times Joel's daughter rejected cookies from the old people they had as neighbors? First at the car then after having baked them and I'm probably missing some. This was while the old woman in a chair was being fed them. Flour is distributed all over the world from some countries so it's easy to conclude how the outbreak spread so wide.

Melkor

@Melkor i meant i could hear milena's scream because they're hilarious, but yeah, those fucking clicking noises are horrible, kinda reninds me a bit of the sound from the chick from the grudge... and that movie traumatized me as a kid, i still have nightmares about that noise, so this goddamned clickers don't help.

sand_fl

Regarding the friend who said it controls inspect like Grashoppers I think she forgot to mention on of the more common things which ius ants. They infect ants and go above ant hills and release deadly shit. (dont ask me the biology behind it all I know is it is creepy af) For more info just search up videos of live cordyceps infecting ants.

Melkor

Same. lol (damn terrifying Clickers)

Melkor

that thunbnail is peak comedy. i can hear it.
