Appreciate this comment, didn't consider the characters as foils for each other.. Fascinating to consider (and I think you're absolutely correct) a drug dealer as a cog in the system, vs a Baltimore take on Robinhood in Omar.

Omar and Bodie contrast each other thematically in some interesting wats
Bodie is a worker who has just kind of tried to find a place as a cog in the system, not being it’s victim. He’ll jump from boss to boss to survive
Omar rejects the system, he doesn’t want to be at anyone’s mercy. It makes sense that an openly gay man would be rejected by the world and forget his own path
Also the way they each acknowledge Michael is interesting, Bodie sees him as a person with genuine opportunities and Omar sees him as an unfortunate kid

"He's just a kid"
An immaculate episode from an immaculate season. Absolutely incredible. This show will truly stay with me for years to come, quite possibly for the rest of my life in all honesty.

I always love this ep since "Ruth's Chris" is the first "high class" restaurant I'd ever been to, decades ago. And that shit is DELICIOUS. When they bring your steak, it's still sizzling in butter on a hot pan. I always laugh when the kids just want to go to McDonald's. I can't even imagine what these kids are thinking. Start small, Bunny!

Yep. He considered these episodes to be the pinnacle of the show. For me episode 12 is the zenith.

Ooh, I am so excited for this final stretch of episodes. George Pelecanos, who always delivered amazing teleplays for each season's penultimate episode, said he personally felt the concluding episodes of this season were the "Wire" team at the top of their game.
