Netflix has pauses where there would be commercial breaks but what the girls watch on cuts the pauses out. It's annoying but I just resync to the dialogue when that happens and the reaction gets ahead.

I think he got better around the time he married. As far as mental problems, I’m not sure. He most likely suffered massive burnout from Yu Yu Hakusho and nearly with HxH. Yu Yu was especially bad because he was getting overworked and lost a lot of creative control to Jump. He’s also written about feelings of inadequacy towards his own art and comparing it to others. “If I can’t do it perfect, why should I do it?” Same reason he gave for not wanting to clean his room. It’s my opinion that his work ethic and the manga industry in general traumatized him. The same thing happened to me when I took too many college classes and failed miserably. Led to a long depressive streak where I didn’t want to do anything.

I love snk from start to finish. But yeah this dialogue was problematic even Isayama himself said that it was a poor writing choice on his part. That's why I was expecting a change in the anime... I'm still hoping!

You don't have to tell me. I have probably gotten every discussion and controversy since the Marley Arc. A lot of it I could still really laugh at, because the dialogue and some of the portrayals were so bad at some points that they became memes. But then all these hate comments aimed directly at Isayama, and especially this harsh division in the community, that people who objectively criticize the ending are completely ostracized by group A, and that people who praise the ending for the points it does well are completely ostracized by group B, was just too much. There was only all hate or all love and nothing in between, and any argumentative discussion was toxic and ended with insults from both groups, always depending on whether you were criticizing or praising something. It is still partly like that. Simply unbearable. Hopefully this will improve after the anime finale, but I rather fear that after the anime finale again a wave of hate will go through the community. ☹️ Well, I got rid of the color, my girlfriend too. I go to sleep and may hear from my stuffy old neighbors below me tomorrow morning, what that was for an impertinence on a Halloween evening (yes well, the day before, but that's the day we adults in Germany can celebrate it) to shower at 3 o'clock in the morning. 😫 Good night guys. 😴💤

Oh sure I apologize there are 100% legitimate gripes but some specific people have reacted poorly to very specific things in a way that shows their troubling values

Stupid people are there for sure, but personally I'm not a fan of some of Isayama's dialogue and decisions in the final either. But through a fan rewrite that stays very close to the original ending, minimally changing the dialogue and explaining everything in a bit more detail, I realized that Isayama's ending is pretty good and fitting to the story, it just wasn't executed well, be it time pressure or creative blocks or general frustration over the very unkind and insulting feedback from some fans for the previous chapters.

I just came from a Halloween party and together with my girlfriend we won second place in the best costume contest (sharing second place with a Harley Quinn and a Joker; tied with 14 votes). Our murderer-doctor + zombie-patient combo unfortunately lost to a ghost and his floating plushie, which was fixed to his back but about 1m away, and kept saying booooh. No chance. 😣 But hey, I did catch through the leaks that Attack on Titan is probably pretty much adapting the manga 1:1 with the final episode, with no dialogue changes. This is going to be a very interesting weekend if it turns out to be true. 😅 Maybe I'll mention again a few fan projects like the Melius rewrite that tried to fix the heavily criticized dialogue in the finale.

I respect Ging's ideals and convictions, but in practice it's just too tough for a normal person. I put Ging and Killua's parents on the same level. They absolutely care, but their parenting styles are just too much. Ging has an uninvolved style and Killua's parent are authoritarian, and both are taken to the absolute extreme in a shonen. Killua's parents are doubly interesting, because they sometimes dip in and out of authoritative parenting, the more positive approach (at least towards Killua).

Scroll up they watched it hahah. It's not a big deal, throws so much at you anyway you're not going to piece things together just by that alone. Worst sin of the intro is just jumping the gun on showing character designs, but like with the Phantom Troupe in the earlier openings, this just made L&M more hyped when they actually met them.

About the nen exorcist, his ability is to disable nen abilities by creating an equally horrific "forest spirit" that is stuck to him until the nen runs its course. With how powerful Gentru's ability was that would probably have lasted on him till he died. Genthru's ability has a way to disable it, by touching Genthru and saying "I caught the bomber". By disabling the bomb the nen attached to him disapeared, and so did the nen beast. That means he's now able to use that ability again to in theory cure Chrollo.

I am endlessly fascinated with Ging, the title Hunter x Hunter refers to Gon hunting Ging The concept of creating a giant deeply complex Nen game in the real world with friends is so clever and gives us insight into what kind of person he might be Togashi loves playing with tropes and giving classic Shonen competitions more meaning with layered rules and a distinct tone I still don’t like him as a person for what he did to Gon, people say LM hating Ging is dumb cause they like Chrollo but 1). People who do horrible things like Chrollo exist but are dramatized for the show with the themes explored through their character and 2). Ging has a responsibility as a father like all parents do (At least Ging isn’t as bad as Naymond’s mom from The Wire 😤)

I'm gonna say it. The OP should be watched. It's not fundamentally different than the others, in my opinion. Mostly character design reveals. This doesn't have the spoiler content of say AoT Season 3 Opening which is pretty much the only case where LM has needed to skip. Most channels watch it as well, though I recognize that's a weak point. WE WATCH OPENINGS ON THIS CHANNEL.
