L&M if you had a choice between Marlo or Clay Davis going to jail - who would you pick?

Fair enough. I found it to be one of several amusing moments in this episode.
"Like Chanel No.5 comes out of your ass, Bunk"
Marlo struggling to communicate with the bank teller
Bunk's facial expressions
Drunk Jimmy continuing to fuck the woman over the police car
"Nice dolphin."
"Shit like this actually goes through your fucking brain?" - Lester
"It ain't easy civilising this motherfucker." - Prop Joe
Jay and Barlow not giving a damn about Jimmy's serial killer.

In that scene, I took it that they're considering the body that Jimmy planted a ribbon on to be a 'killing'. Hence, "we have to kill again" being a line with logical basis.

Milena, you're right to tell Lola to be careful what you wish for!
I remember when she said whoever kills Bug's dad will be her favourite character. Then Chris killed him in the very next episode. 😂 Frankly, I'm surprised Chris didn't feature in Lola's top five characters list. 🤭

“We need to kill again.” - That line is comical, farcical and tragic. I love it. I’ve always found that line jarring because they haven’t actually killed anyone and this storyline took me a little while to adjust to.
Prop Joe on Marlo: “It ain't easy civilising this motherfucker.” - Indeed, Joe. Indeed.
Monk to Dukie: “Nice dolphin, nigga.” - Sorry, that line always makes me laugh.
Episode trivia:
- One of the girls at Six Flags with Dukie and Mike is the daughter of Sonja Sohn who plays Kima.

As much as I find Jimmy's "we have to kill again" line super corny, it does spell out how best to watch this season: it's all a big joke. Everything bubbling under the surface about the show's themes and the targets of its ire, it brings to the surface in a big way.
That's not to say it's always as elegantly done as previously seasons, but still. There's a moment in a later episode where, on first watch, it all clicked for me that it was all one big joke, and then everything felt right.

Exactly. In every other situation, Marlo has the upperhand as far as the power. With the Greeks, he does not. He doesn't need anyone else, but he needs to Greeks so he has a direct supplier. He's more patient with them than he would be anyone else, because anyone else is either below him or his peer.

I've never been able to fully buy into Lester hopping on board so quickly. This is the same guy who tells Jimmy "the job won't save you", "you need a life", etc. Not to mention he's still in the midst of prosecuting the Clay Davis case which he's clearly very invested in.
Put it this way: think of how far gone Jimmy had to be to even consider this nonsense, and even at the end he needed a shot of Jameson's to go through with it. Why was Lester so easily convinced? Yes Jimmy already got the ball rolling, but just on its face it seems like an insane and convoluted plan that could easily get them both locked up.

Man I love season 5. The small suspension of disbelief with Lester being on board with Jimmy is the only blemish, everything else is just fantastic television. It might honestly be the third best season of the show for me after 4 and 2.

If you didn't notice, it was Cheese giving up Butchie to Marlo, going against Prop Joe's wishes of ''letting sleeping dogs lie''.

As far as the title "Not for Attribution": it's a phrase used in media when a source gives a quote or information but requests their identity to remain anonymous. In other words, the source is saying "Do not attribute (or cite) this to me; keep me out of it". Besides seeing this play out with the newspaper, one could kind of tie it into other secretive chicanery going on with Jimmy/Lester or with Marlo and the Greeks

The guy behind the counter at the Greek diner isn't the same that was there in season 2. It was Stefanos, with very dark hair, now it's Andreas with grey hair.

I think your read on Carcetti is mostly bang-on, but it's interesting to hear you lamenting that Daniels (if he becomes commissioner) won't be able to change anything -- it's not his fault! -- while also blaming Tommy for not being able to change anything from the mayor's office. Tommy obviously has more selfish goals than Daniels, but the system is fucked regardless.
And of course we've gotta remember that part of the reason Daniels wouldn't be able to enact meaningful change *is* his fault, because his checkered past creates political leverage against him. (I guess the corollary here is that Daniels's dirt from early in his career is also indicative of the systemic rot in the police system. I think he all but says "everyone was doing it" in a previous episode.)

I see your point about Lester, but considering how long and closely he's been working on the Marlo case and how he's been fucked by the police department (being sent to the pawn shop unit for 13 years and four months) for being too good at his job, I can understand how his frustrations with the system come into play in supporting Jimmy's fucked up plan.
Could this development have benefited from more episodes? Sure, but one could argue the same for every aspect of this season

Michael, Bug, and Dukie going to Six Flags was both very sweet and heartfelt, and incredibly sad. I kept thinking "they deserve this day" but that thought was immediately countered with the idea that this day is all they will get. Of just being the kids they are.
Lester's reaction here surprised me a lot more than Jimmy's actions. I think if he had been initially outraged like Bunk and then sort of accidentally talked himself into it it would have worked better maybe?
I had similar feelings seeing Omar. I'd like him to keep living this life and I'm feeling pretty sure that coming back is a death sentence for him, one way or another.
Listing favorite characters in this series is a little hard for me. Most of them I would say I don't feel too passionately about them. But I think Bubbles would be one of mine for sure, as would Bunny and Omar. I do like Jimmy, Lester, Bunk, and Kima, but I wouldn't say I love them.

Milena seems a bit confused about why Marlo is acting different around the Greeks and why he is not getting upset when they tell him No each time… I mean it’s basically just because he wants something from them. He has no power in that relationship - he can’t react like he normally would when someone doesn’t do what he wants (ie threaten/kill them) because then they would just shut him out of the connect for sure. He is treading carefully because he knows that they are loyal to Joe and so his only chance of being able to do business with them direct is to be calm and respectful.
