I don't understand why the show is viewed so negatively. Yes, it was stupid that it was canceled after 5 seasons, but it was a pretty good ending for the show.

If they had mentioned in the scene on the bed that she was low on oxygen and he had to get her back into the tank, it might have been justifiable, but without that it was just ridiculous and silly.
