The pins they have one is a symbol & a pin for lawyers in S Korea. I saw a few other law Kdramas & they were all wearing them as well. I think the judge's ruling kinda said the same thing that Young-woo said in the conference room at the start of the ep - that the restructuring policy is technically not discrimination against the women bc the husbands were threatened to be fired, so it's "more discriminatory for the men" if interpreted literally by the law (but people can infer or read between the lines that in the patriarchal & sexist society that S Korea is, it is really IS discrimination against the women bc most wives will take it instead due to societal pressure, like Choi Su-yeon explained in the conference room.) This ep really does shed light on female work life issues in S Korea. If you're interested, watch the movie "Kim Ji-Young, Born 1982" (starring the pregnant lady from Train to Busan as the lead & Gong Yoo, the slapping recruiter from Squid Game & the main lead dad from Train to Busan, as the supporting lead.) It is based on a best selling novel in S Korea that is also a source of big heated debate bc it is a literary work that shed light on sexism in S Korea, but huge anti-feminist groups are so against it that they practically cyber-bully celebrities who claim to have read the book or watched movie (so ridiculous!)
