He openly displayed it for the last 3 episodes lol. I believe it is Edwina’s willful ignorance that annoys other watchers. Like how narcissistic must you be to not recognize your own sister’s feelings that are also openly displayed. To think Edwina really believed they “hated” each other is just something I really don’t understand lol. Therefore, yes her reaction to me seems like a tantrum bc she for once in her life didn’t get things her way.

I think most of the people who are hating on edwina right now are likely just biased really big fans of kate and its kind of more of a personal thing lmao which I totally get cause kate it great, but come on now like you would not be fuming if you found out on your wedding day that the person you're supposed to marry is in love with your sister and is very openly displaying it to the public at the wedding. In my opinion I think she handled it great considering the circumstances.

I 100% can't blame edwina for the way she acted because I would react the same if not worse if it had happened to me. These comments are a little dramatic and I don't think edwina was being that harsh honestly. And I don't see how anyone could believe the mom was trying to single kate out when she told her to leave because I think it was more to try and calm the situation down.

I don't get why people disliked Edwina so much because if I was in her shoes I would be furious (I'm not disregarding the half-sister comment) at my sister and fiancé. I also wouldn't help, but think they if they did it behind my back. Ofc she couldn't see what was right in front of her. She's young not always gonna see things, and that's what's learning for. #EdwinaDeservesBetter

episode 5 was hot. this episode is...not. I get your guys' confusion and disappointment. it was fun while only we were privy to all the messiness. but now that it is out in the open, it is much less just messy and more outright unpleasant. I did not love how things transpired between the sisters - that rift will be difficult to mend. I liked *when* the kiss was placed. Kate did her best to hold on until the engagement/wedding was officially over. if Edwina does not want him, what is to stop her, really? making her sister mad? well, she already did that well enough :/ and Anthony...well, he is a *gentleman*, right? right?? :D and what about Lady Featherington, eh? keep a close eye there - lots to come, all of it pretty interesting. El and Pen also might need to make some hard choices soon. @Rob, loved the shade you threw on Simon - I have missed people making fun of the show for not bringing him back for at least 1 scene. :D

We seem to be in the minority. I didn't realize so many people disliked Edwina. Or that to love Kate and Anthony, one has to make Edwina out to be a villain. I feel bad for all of them, but especially for Edwina. I can empathize with her. It sucks to lose trust for someone you love. And maybe I missed it, but I don't recall Anthony flat-out expressing to Edwina that his intention was not to marry for love. Kate, his 'friends', and his entire family knew that, but I didn't think Edwina knew.

so after having seen this episode several times now, my thoughts are quite different tonight than they were when i first watched. when i first saw it, i was very much annoyed with both edwina and lady mary. and justifiably so. but tonight i think i can say i understand where they are coming from a little bit better. it doesn't excuse some of the things said out of anger, but i do feel i understand them more. a big attitude surrounding marriage at this time was "you'll come to love one another." it's what i've heard repeated so often in historical romances and in books. that marriage is transactional but in time, you'll grow to find an affection and fondness and love for one another. edwina is not stupid. i think she just convinced herself that that would be the case with her and anthony. everyone told her he didn't love her like she wanted, and i think instead of her just being stupid and not listening, she convinced herself that maybe in time he could come to love her. it was when he outright told her in this episode and upon seeing everything unfold that she realized this idea of "coming to love each other" wouldn't be the case with them. it was her wakeup call. i don't think she was being stupid or intentionally obtuse. and my heart does still go out to her for how everything went down. however, that's not an excuse for how she treated kate. i get it. she probably sees it all as one big deception and probably is questioning so many things. like, all the times kate tried to steer her away from anthony and say she deserved better, were her intentions pure or did she just want anthony for herself? i am sure that's a thought going through edwina's head right now. we know as an audience but for edwina this is still very new. i get that she's angry and that anger is justified in my opinion but how she's handling that anger is not. if that makes sense. i don't think lady mary is intentionally putting edwina above kate or seeing edwina as more her daughter right now than kate. edwina looked like she was on the very verge of a panic attack and kate's presence was causing more distress. i think lady mary just was trying to get edwina calm, not that she was intentionally shooing kate away because she sees edwina as more her real daughter. i think she just wanted edwina's distress to calm and kate being there was aggrivating it more. however it just sucks so much for kate because she needed comforting too in that moment so badly and her crying alone in that closet just completely shatters my heart. i just want to run give her a hug!! i think they've painted kate too much a villian and that's just not justified. she's not purposefully sneaking around trying to get with anthony. she's kept trying to push him and her feelings aside for the sake of her sister. unfrotunately no one has really seen that inner struggle except us an audience. i am just so glad things are out in the open now. it sort of feels like being on a rollar coaster. you've made it to the top and you think "oh this isn't so bad" but there's still an entire ride left to go lol and i am so excited for these next episodes!

everybody gets on edwina's case but if the guy you were supposed to be marrying and your sister of all people were googly-eyeing each other at your wedding in front of god and everyone, none of y'all would react any differently. please be for fucking real. love anthony and kate, they absolutely belong together but they should have just both been honest with themselves from the start.
