I think it's so nice what Zach said, he doesn't hate Gareth like he hated the highschool's guys, he wants Marianne to be with Connel, but that doesn't mean he wants Gareth to suffer or to end his relationship with Marianne in a bad way, cause he doesn't deserve it since he seems a decent person so far! Itìs not about sides...very thouthful :-)

2023-02-21 03:09:08 +0000 UTCIt's amusing to me that you guys just posted your Pride & Prejudice reaction, meanwhile Connell was discussing/praising Emma (another Jane Austen novel) in his seminar during this episode. I have yet to see your P&P reaction vid, though it seems it wasn't a hit with you guys and that's a-okay. I just hope it doesn't dissuade you from getting around to Emma (2020) with Anya Taylor-Joy and Mia Goth. It's the story that Clueless was based on, but don't worry, the male lead is not her step-brother, haha.

2023-02-21 03:00:15 +0000 UTCIn Ireland, the debs (prom) take place the summer between your final year of high school and the beginning of college. The exams for college happen in June and then the debs usually happen in July or August. So in the last episode once they finish their exams, they’ve finished school. So the “time jump”isn’t a huge jump from the last episode, but it does mean that realistically Connell and Marianne haven’t seen each other since the exams in June.

2023-02-21 00:16:03 +0000 UTCmost of this episode was mainly showing Connell's big transition into college and the new environment which can be hard for most people to really put yourself out there and have to make new friends, etc. he kind of just began missing his own hometown and friends cause it's comfortable and less effort and then u see Marianne who has friends and absolutely flourishing
