Thank you, that’s really kind of you💛 we gon be alright, one step at a time🙏🏻

This episode goes beyond the fact that Marianne isn't with Connell. It actually basically showcase thats not the reason for her depression at all. So, them just getting back together won't fix anything. This way is actually great because she doesn't need a boyfriend right now, she just needs a friend. He'll need that soon too. We all do!!

I also can relate in some ways. Once you’ve been broken and kicked while you’re down so many times it’s genuinely hard to believe that you deserve better. But you do. We both do. And the bad things that have happened to us that make us feel this way are in no way our fault and I’m so sorry you’ve dealt with these shitty feelings too. Just know that this stranger wishes you the best because you deserve no less. And i also want you to know that it’s okay to feel all of the emotions that come with healing. It isn’t meant to be a linear process so give yourself some grace in this journey 💙. I have faith in you. Hugs 🫂

I’m in the same boat as Marianne. Once you’ve suffered so much cruelty and criticism it’s hard to believe that you deserve better. Sleeping with people to feel something even when you’re treated like trash. You get comfortable with trauma and anything good for you feels foreign and uncomfortable. You become a masochist and your own worst enemy.

Connell was right in that he didn’t like her friends (Joanna is an exception) as they were never really her friends at all they just latched onto the persona Marianne had as a front to the world in college

i think the ending with connell's voiceover of him reassuring Marianne that she is a good person who deserves to be treated well she's been treated so badly basically her entire life by her family and kids at school was great though, def the best thing to come out of this episode

Peggy was one of those people who seems like a good "friend" but in reality she constantly overstepped boundaries and was quick to gossip about her "best friend" being Marianne, she one of those people who are just too messy

I really dislike this episode. It’s not badly written/directed or anything, it just makes me extremely uncomfortable lol. I’ve rewatched this show a lot of times but I tend to skip this one because it’s very sad to see Marianne putting herself in this place.

I think it is very interesting to add that in the book, she is extremely anorexic in Sweden. It is another way for her to punish herself. Having a dessert and not eating it is a way for her to hurt herself. This episode is a way for us to understand why Marianne acts to way she does. She truly believes that she deserve pain.

this episode really begins to go deeper into marianne's response to her trauma and her way of self harming :( it's heartbreaking, something that can be seen as a kink or fetish for some, can be a sad way of coping for some and her self-esteem and feeling of deserving to be treated badly is so so sad to see

This episode is always so hard for me to get through.
