Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - (Movie Week 6/6) [1-Week Early Access/Watchalong!]

Comments

I think what makes the books so awesome is that all of the little details of who, what, where, and how are explained that sometimes get left out of the movies. It was sort of alluded to in one of the previous comments here that Lupin takes away the map from Harry because it would actually lead Harry to Sirius which could then endanger Sirius, and Lupin would know that since he along with James, Sirius and Pettigrew are the actual creators of the Marauderʻs Map. It's also revealed in further detail in the book (although it is mentioned in the movie) that Sirius did time in Askaban for "killing" Peter Pettigrew, not for betraying James & Lilly. But itʻs also explain in the book that Sirius found out that Peter had betrayed James & Lilly and he had tracked Peter down... and I think the story goes that while they were in the middle of a fight on the street, Peter, in an explosion, transformed himself into a rat and left only his finger behind so that people would think he was killed. Thatʻs how Sirius got framed. And thatʻs why he still has to remain in hiding after the truth comes out because Pettigrew was never actually caught and brought to justice.

Not sure if this has been said but in the books, Sirius (Padfoot), James (Prongs), and Pettigrew (Wormtail) learn to become Animagus to support Lupin (Mooney). An especially powerful patronus charm can take on a corporeal form. In Harry's case, it's a Stag after his Dad (Prongs).

Joe Lancaster

Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, if they had my bad, but the actress who plays Professor Trelawney (the cooky divination teacher) is the woman who played Alan Rickman's wife in Love Actually!

Myranda

I think the trio were only like a year older than their characters!!! Edit: Meaning like Daniel was 14 when Harry was 13 in this movie.

Prisoner of Azkaban and goblet of fire are tied for my favorite hp movie! Hermione just absolutely kicks ass and I love her so much😂 this movie reminds me the most of Harry Potter world, I went like 2 years ago and I legit cried in line for "hp and the forbidden journey" I believe it's called? Cuz you basically walk through different rooms/sets and it's so cool to see, it hit me right in the childhood😭 bryce saying "well time to get a new one, they have better brooms now anyway" is so ravenclaw of him😂 and guys......I wanted to make a comment about a bryce/rob piggyback ride into zufftown, but there's no way to do it without sounding actually insane LMAO
