The Princess Diaries (2001) - Reel-Timers MM #7 Early Access/Watchalong!

Comments

my 10th birthday party was Jump In themed so i relate to Bryce heavily in this intro

The dancing at the end (I, too, was surprised that Zuff wasn’t getting down, that’s how you know he really wasn’t feeling this movie lol)…the dead silence when Rob was talking about his interest in watching the sequel (plus the zoomed in reactions from Bryce and Zuff), and Bryce wondering if he’d make a good princess…all of it hilarious! I have a soft spot for this film, but it’s not one I would’ve recommended, at least not before countless others. Nonetheless, your reactions were amusing/fun to watch, as per usual.

Right, the girl basically told Mia to get over her dad dying and made Mia feel like shit and cry over a new hairdo...

I know it's long, but at some point y'all should really watch the Sound of Music to experience Julie Andrews fully. It's a classic, and it's so cute. Plus, who doesn't love nuns sticking it to Nazis??

Megan the Librarian

the end of this video 💀💀absolute favorite clip ever. "He said the garden's occupied" lmaoooo!!!

This was such a fun watch! Honestly, the romance is so unserious and irrelevant, I always forget about it. Its fair if you guys werent too into it since like you said you aren't the target audience. I definitely agree with the comments about the sequel, it's alot better imo and more adult!

Michelle

I'm on team Bryce, Lily is so annoying

emily

Not Bryce with the “O'Doyle rules” lmao

This is definitely a girly nostalgic classic. It’s fun to see the teenagers actually act like teens. The romance is kind of a throwaway but the apology pizza is iconic!

Emory

love the sequel so much! hope they get around to it eventually.

Emily

as much as I am fond of the first movie I rewatch the sequel way more it's so good I love it. hopefully you guys get to react to it I think you would enjoy it! btw been loving and appreciating all the reactions and hard work y'all have been putting out this month, much love xx

also unpopular opinion but i really kind of like lilly, and what she represents. it's refreshing to see a teenage girl character be moody and imperfect who needs to grow, and does actively take steps to grow. she acknowledges her faults and tries to be better. i remember growing up and thinking her character was actually realistic and refreshing to see.

i think y'all would have more fun with the second one, it's more adult so to speak. this one just felt very sweet. the romance wasn't meant to be intense because they've known each other forever and they were still so young. the second one has stronger romance aspects. it's still a fun family friendly movie but it definitely feels more grown up than this one.
