Hi! Firstly thank you for another great reaction! Yes this movie is definitely a tearjerker, I lose it every time Ewan McGregor's character breaks down during the telephone call. To answer some of your questions regarding the disaster (if someone already did I apologize in advance) The Tsunami didn't just affect Thailand but a dozen or more countries along the south/Southeast Asia coastlines. Its estimated that over 227,000 lives were lost. The tsunami(s) itself was a product of a 9.1 earthquake when the Sunda Megathrust (fault line of 3,300 miles) ruptured 810 miles at 30 miles below sea level. The earthquake was also the longest quake with a record lasting time of 8-10 minutes. So basically the seismic energy that was pent up needed to be released so once it was, it created 30- 100 ft waves (100 ft was epicenter of quake),traveling at over 500 MPH. Imagine it as not a couple, nor a hundred but thousands of A-Bombs being set off. That's essentially what that quake did. A lot of the countries where hit at varying times some even 6-7 hours after the earthquake. I know information like that can change so if I got anything wrong or if anyone has anything to add please do! :)

2023-03-28 19:27:01 +0000 UTCokay i didn’t have to do all that? mine was perfectly synced most of the time i just noticed it must have paused and played again at some point so i paused mine until the timecode matched up and then i noticed it again towards the end i literally saw their video pause and then resume but it only happened to me twice and was pretty much synced the whole time i’m not sure what’s going on with everyone else where it was going out of sync every minute??? the netflix version they were watching (perhaps uk has a different version) worked with mine bc i also have a vpn and used the uk netflix.

2023-03-28 14:48:29 +0000 UTCIt was annoying, but not that bad. What I did was watch them on my laptop and literally just hit the pause button for a few seconds every minute or so. It was never perfectly synced, but as long as my version was slightly ahead and they weren't reacting to stuff I hadn't seen yet, it was mostly fine. Plus, every 10 minutes or so, they show the video on their end so you can make sure it's not too far off. Extra work, but still worth it to see their full reaction.

I watched for up to 26 minutes and I'm very tired of trying to sync it every few minutes. I just want to sit back and watch it but it's driving me insane that their reactions don't match up with the movie after like 10 seconds of when I sync it back up

2023-03-28 05:26:19 +0000 UTCMine too. I honestly think the video is sped up a little bit. Like it's going at a slightly faster playback speed. Because I was watching it on a DVD and it did the same thing. I had to pause every 30 seconds or something to make sure it didn't keep getting ahead.
