Rob singing along and dancing to every song is my favorite thing

Finally got around to watching this one. It's been a REALLY long time since I've seen Hairspray. I'm a big fan of musicals, and while the music from this one is not my favorite, it's one of the only Broadway shows where I get to see someone who looks like me in the lead role, so that's really special! Glad you guys enjoyed it; would love to see more musicals on the channel! Sounds like they may not be Bryce's thing, but there are some really good ones out there!

One of my favorite movie musicals! So, a bit of movie trivia: This version of Hairspray is based on the broadway musical Hairspray which in turn was based on the original John Waters movie "Hairspray" (1988). Mr. Pinky is played by Jerry Stiller, Ben Stiller's father. Jerry Stiller played the original Wilbur Turnblad in the original movie. Other cameos include "The Flasher" from the beginning of the movie played by John Waters (the director of the original film) and the talent agents dressed in black at the end of the movie were Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman (the composers of the musical), Adam Shankman (the director of this film), and Ricki Lake, the original Tracy Turnblad from the original movie. And last bit of trivia... in the end credits, there's a song called "Mama I'm a Big Girl Now." It's in the musical but was not included as a scene in this movie where originally Tracy, Penny, and Amber sing to their mothers and tell them to stop running their lives... and in this end credits version, the song is sung by the three Tracys - Nikki Blonsky (this movie's Tracy), Marissa Jaret Winokur (the original Broadway Tracy), and Ricki Lake (the original movie Tracy). Sorry, I know that's a lot but as a big fan of the show, it was awesome to see and hear all of these surprise guests. :)

For the second version of “new girl in town” Love how Rob was like “let’s be honest, WAY BETTER” Me: “as it always is” *hair toss* 😂👏🏾👏🏾

Logan.

FUN FACT: Nikki Blonsky who plays Tracy went to my school! My principal actually went to the Hairspray premiere and met the cast including Zac Efron lol

Loved this!!! Performed you can’t stop the beat in my drama class in primary school and can’t believe all the words came back to me watching this!! What also came back to me is that I think Christopher Walken is hot in this movie, I don’t care to elaborate further lol. I know it’s really popular and a lot of people will say it but Mamma Mia is a shout honestly, it’s defo what you were describing with fun, famous ensemble cast, songs you’ll know/enjoy and it’s Meryl Streep!!! There’s many more that are deep cuts but I think that’s a good musical for people newer to musicals.

all of you getting really into the songs was so fun to watch!!
