You should deffo take a look at some of their stuff if you haven't already, their tv series is gold and their songs are incorporated into it. :)

(I think Disney made her up so idk) - Te fiti became Te ka after maui stole her heart - The island of Te fiti is based on the islands of Tahiti which kind of resemble a woman laying down 💁♀️ - The boats are called Canoes (they actually say it several times in the movie) - Polynesian history is amazing, and they were the best "wayfinders" (sailors) ever. Honestly, they could find islands and travel across the ocean without the need for maps and such, simply by using their knowledge of the stars. You're welcome 🤙😂

(also, Moana is the Māori word for Ocean/Sea - native language of New Zealand)
