ngl this reaction made me lose a bit of respect for yall

mishka

Omg wow I didn’t know that!

Alana

The actor who plays Bert is the voice of Khonshu in Moon Knight.

Kate M

Oh wow! Never knew this. Thanks for explaining!

Emily

the thing about albie is that he puts on the “nice guy” front and he claims feminism and kindness especially in front of men who are outwardly sexist/objectifying towards women i.e. his father and grandfather, but when it comes down to it he cuts portia off in the middle of her expressing her emotions in an attempt to “be more agressive” when it’s clearly not the right time. he kisses her because he’s not interested in what she’s saying at the moment only what she’s said that makes him think things might go further.

Albie and Porsha scenes are actually so hard to watch

Ebada

I agree with Rob, Ethan should have never put himself in that situation. Like its a good thing he said no and didn’t let it go any further but also like as soon as Cameron called over the hookers, Ethan should have been like thats my que to leave.

Aya

Also it made me feel weird when Porsha was talking about how she was having a bad day and then Albie just starts kissing her not really acknowledging what she even just said

Alana

Ethan kissed that girl back for a few seconds, not good at all

Alana

So glad you explained this!! I was about to do the same!

The part where all the men were staring at Harper was an homage to a famous scene in an Italian film starring Monica Vitti (the actress Tanya wanted to be like). They were filming in the exact same location as the Italian film, so they decided to work the almost shot-for-shot tribute into the episode. This youtube short shows it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmTbKmQdLX8

I'm not making excuses for Ethan because he's a grown man and it's not like anyone forced him to take molly or forced him to go back to the room. Cameron probably would have given him shit but he was horny and too busy trying to bang Lucia. He could have gone to the other room that was literally connected. He kissed Mia back and then said no which is like "okay cool?" also y'all hated Sarah from OBX when she made out with Hopper and she's legit meant to be a teenager while Ethan is in his 30s and actually married. I don't think Ethan is a bad person or anything and I probably wouldn't call him a "cheater" but the difference in responses was interesting.

The scene with the men surrounding Harper is a mirrored scene and homage to L'Avventura, an Italian film starring the iconic actress Monica Vitti who died around the time they started filming for the second season. Don't look up the film plot but Mike White mentioned that the scene from L'Avventura really stuck with him and it plays a part regarding the themes this season surrounding sex, sexual politics, and masculinity. Those men were leering at Harper and Monica's character in the film. A lot of this scene are nods to old Italian films and operas. The focus on Italian American films like The Godfather make me like this season more as someone who loves film, particularly Italian films. The reason why I said not to look up L'Avventura is because the plot is basically what kind of happens this season so no spoilers. But yeah! That scene with Harper was extremely purposeful if you compare the two.

so dom’s actor was in goodfellas and sopranos and bert’s actor was in scarface

Ryhill95

Tanya in the thumbnail😂😂😂 love it

Michelle

honestly i feel like the whole greg and tanya thing doesn't surprise me. even in the first season when tanya had her first breakdown in front of him, he literally only said "i still want to fuck you" so like he was very clearly only interested in sex, so yeah it does not surprise me at all that their marriage isn't working (from what i've seen so far that is idk maybe they'll throw a curveball)
