Like a couple people said Taraji is like 20 years older than Quinta, and Janine is supposed to be even younger than Quinta is, so even tho she looks young the math adds up. There were so many subtle layers this episode it was insane. I love how this show does drama: it's never too much but if you pay attention you catch a lot.

"Yeah, well I'm her mother and I brought her into this world at mine." brought her into this world at my expense is CRAZYYY. speaks volumes about how Janine's mom feels about Janine and their relationship. so many parents have that mentality that their kids owe them always just bc they gave birth to them. love this episode, hit veryyy close to home.

I loved this episode. Lots of Mommy stuff. Glad Janine is still going on her vacay. While I was watching The Matrix watchalong, I remembered this episode and the part where Jacob bent the spoon with his mind and I was glad that The Matrix review was done so you'd get the reference. Only 1 to go.

Exactly, someone thought me and my mom were sisters and our age gap is about the same as Taraji and Quinta. She just looks young. Plus Taraji is a celebrity so that also helps, she gets good skincare.

Taraji is just Black, hot, and rich. Taraji is 20 years older than Quinta, my mom is 21 years older than me and she looks like she could be my sister because she has no wrinkles and looks young. It's believable that they're related and it's good casting because they kind of look alike. Sheryl Lee Ralph (Mrs. Barbara) is 66 years old, she doesn't look like she'll be 70 in a few years. Black don't crack.

the fact that every time janine said "i love you" to her mum she just wouldn't say it back and would redirect or change the topic. janine really is too kind and i'm glad she has someone like barbara around
