Here's a series suggestion (sorry if I'm missing a better place to drop it): My friends in the LGBTQ+ community introduced me to "The L Word: Generation Q." As a straight guy, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was completely invested in the characters' lives.

not a movie but i recommend the eighth sense! :) it's my favourite k-drama and such a beautiful story about two university students. they also talk about mental health which i think is super important as it reminds people that it's okay to speak up and seek help when they're struggling

please to those who keep commenting and liking the comments for CMBYN, please know this: lgbt+ people are commenting saying why it's bad representation and how inappropriate it is. and yet there's more and more suggestions with likes under it for that film. please listen to what's being said. it's so upsetting to me that there's several of us who are not straight imploring and stating why this movie is not okay especially as queer representation for the month of pride, and yet it's going ignored. i truly am saddened seeing lgbt+ voices are going ignored in favor of a movie that was a toxic fantasy project with timothee chalamat and a creeper. as someone that isn't straight i feel really uncomfortable by this comment section today and i hate saying that because i do genuinely love the community here. i'm just praying the guys see what is being said and take that into consideration. and to those of you thinking that it's just a movie and may not be that big of a deal, please go back and read the comments we've written explaining our feelings about this suggestion.

Anything but call me by your name, & that’s bc the writer of the book is a pedophile he says in an interview he enjoys lusting after 12 year old girls but swears he would never actually act on it. The two leads have a groomer situation going & I’m just not here for romanticizing that or contributing to the assumption the world already puts on my community that we are predators & sexual deviants. There are just better lgbtq stories/films out there that don’t have such a problematic backdrop.

i know this isn't a movie and the dang show is 60 episodes but i'd love if you guys checked out the untamed. it's started as a novel in china and was made into a drama. the novel is very explicit in the relationship between the two main leads however due to censorship laws the show had to work around that and did so in a wonderful way. there's so much love and care that went into that series. they're never explicit but it's filled with some of the most tender and romantic moments i have ever seen ans the two actors that were in it came to the table knowing what they were creating and how they wanted it to be shown without being said. it's just very good. i start it every summer and so pride month just has come synomous with that show to me lol it holds such a place in my heart. i wouldn't be saying this because i know you want movies but i've seen others mention bad buddy and kinnporsche so i just need to throw this hat into the ring for a someday.

rent would also be super fun! a broadway musical would be fantastic and rent is a really powerful one. it's got its flaws but it's incredible. the stage play was written by jonathan larson who died i believe opening night and never got to see it performed. it's a homage to his loved ones he lost during the aids crisis.
