I honestly just think Saeroyi is neurodivergent and I love that because it’s great representation. he doesn’t quite get social cues and so he comes off as socially awkward and rude but that’s just because he doesn’t understand how to spare people’s feelings the way neurotypical people do. despite his lack of social awareness, he is still a fierce friend and will go to bat for the people he loves. truly a top tier character!

Hooray! Happy to see you guys feeling the relationship and characters of Saeroyi and his Dad. Probably one of my fave parts of the show. That aside, I think Saeroyi isn't exactly meant to be rude as such...but as a person, he just doesn't see the need to make nice with people he doesn't think are good people. As a teen, he has a stubborn and perhaps callous way of expressing that, but you get to see him grow as a person.
