2023-06-11 00:11:25 +0000 UTCAs a Canadian and being a huge fan of Anne ( watched all the series and movies and episodes of the 80's adaptation) I even went to the authors home and got to see where the author lived and was born. She based alot of the locations and experiences from the place she grew up. As a kid j loved the story, now as an adult and seeing this more grown up adaptation I think it's so fascinating psychologically. She has experienced so much trauma at a young age. Of course she didn't know how to deal with what she went through and was so young that make believe and her imagination was her way of coping with everything. Being overdramatic is her charm and burden but the show really shows why she is the way she is.

2023-06-10 18:48:38 +0000 UTCalso the book came out in 1908. my aunt told me growing up in the 60s she and all her friends loved anne of green gables and that anne was called this type of protector for all weird little girls. fast forward to me growing up in the 90s with the 80s-90s specials on tv. and now here's this in the 2020s. it's just so cool to me how anne is a character who has been a comfort for all these generations. "the patron saint of weird girls" is what i've seen her called many times. it's just so cool to me that this chracter has been here for so many generations of women, and still is!! and this show did it such justice! it's just so awesome!
