wow, i love that

I saw someone say that Marcus saving the man on the bike sort of brought him a sense of catharsis because he's not able to "save" his mom, which makes a lot of sense. And his mom can't communicate with him, but this man could hug him and express his gratitude for Marcus' help. Also, I think the guy falling off a bike and getting back up and continuing on riding is a lesson on perseverance maybe?

Lionel gave an interview and said this regarding that bike scene "That was an interesting thing about this episode. There’s really no real conflict outside of what’s inside of him. I talked with Ramy and Chris a lot about that moment and what it means. It’s a lot about nonverbal communication. It mirrors his and his mother’s relationship. I think that hug at the end is the hug he couldn’t get from his mom, so that’s why he leans more into it. It’s the first hug he’s had in who knows how long. It was a person who needed help and he saved him. You’re in a foreign country. Having to save somebody — if I’m by myself having to save a human, that’s scary alone. Being Black in another country, thinking about that, is scary also. Being in Copenhagen — if someone walks up, and they don’t speak English, they’re going to be like, “What did you do to this person?” Getting arrested in a foreign country — that’s the ominous music. It’s those thoughts.

i like what Bryce said about how you can't just pause your life waiting for someone else—having a sick parent is the toughest thing to deal w and i still have to remind myself that i can enjoy life without feeling guilty, this ep was just rly nice and im glad nothing happened to Marcus' mom

Standout episode for me. It's nice to watch everyone learning and coming into their roles. Lol Bryce's reaction to the bike scene had me dying bc same... What the hell was that?

Love this episode so much. Between it being a Marcus centered ep, Will Poulter cameo and just how beautiful everything was shot visually I have to give it a 10. Super excited we’re getting to the 2nd half of the season as each episode after the next is just mindblowingly good.

Zuff’s mic tends to be very echoey

I loved this episode so much because I love Marcus and Will’s character was so lowkey but perfect. I cannot wait for you guys to see the rest of the season. This show is honestly what TV is all about

Ashley

I’d love to see a spin-off about Will Poulter’s character 👌 Also, Marcus is easily a top 3 character for me.
