2023-07-10 00:23:14 +0000 UTCIt was obvious to me that it was filler episode, so I went into with low expectations and I ended up enjoying the heck out of it! Apart from the stuff he gets into because of Jane, I don’t think this night was typical for Beard. He went on a journey here and it was amusing to watch and get inside his head a bit because he’s been such an enigma since the start of the show.

They wrote a 10-episode arc for the season 2 and then Apple TV ordered 12 episodes so they needed to add 2 without interfering with the planned storylines. These two episodes are also my least favourite of the season, but maybe I don’t like this one since I’ve never seen the Martin Scorsese movie it parody’s.

Even the title gives away the fact that this is an homage to that film. Beard is basically replacing the main character of the film who is experiencing a night of crazy events in a foreign city.
