Ted Lasso 1x10 'The Hope That Kills You' EXTRA Early Access/Watchalong

Comments

I get a little choked up every time they say “this may be the last time we ever see the great Roy Kent lace up his boots.” It’s been his LIFE since he was 9 years old 😭

Ted Lasso is a funny show, right when you feel like it's too much of a cliche all of a sudden it makes you tear up or laugh out loud.

julia

How sweet of Rob's mom to bake Ted's biscuits and place them in a little pink box to boot! I'm going to bake a batch as I head into season 2.

Cindy S.

Yeah, the scene with Ted hitting his head at the top of the door was real. Jason Sudeikis jumped up to click his heels together and clearly made a misjudgment lol. He talked about how much his head was bleeding afterward and how they had to glue the wound shut.

Tammy S

The scene when Jamie receives the note and the lil army man from Ted always makes me drop a tear. It means so much to Jamie to have Ted’s constant support and validation after having to deal with his father his whole football career. You can see how much that affects him.

I love this show. I can’t wait for you guys to see season 2. It’s hilarious, of course, but also goes a lot deeper into the more emotional stuff in several characters’ backgrounds. I’m a fan of all of you guys, but I’m especially excited to see Rob’s reactions to a few of the particularly heavy moments. I was thinking of the sympathy he showed during the scenes about Anthony’s past on Bridgerton, and I think he’ll have a similar reaction to seeing the backstories of some of the characters on this show as well.

Elle

Yeah, that scene with Jamie and his dad definitely recontextualizes a lot about him, and why Keeley's advice to Ted was to give Jamie positive reinforcement as that's not something he's ever gotten from his father. Also makes the extra pass all the more impactful, because he knew he'd be subjecting himself to violence by doing it. I'd say he's the character that benefits most from doing rewatches as now you know why he was the way he was and what he's had to deal with since he was a child.

Laurel

I love Ted just always emphasizing the importance of having people around to lean on. It was also really cool seeing Rebecca more there for the people she cares about than for winning against Rupert. Such growth 🥲

Heather Geer

Ugh yes I love this episode so much!
