Video Vault: Nox Radio (Creative Process)

Doing something a little different this month. Kick back and chill to a little Nox radio.

Kind of an experiment, that may evolve into something else in the future. Whaddya think?

This is exactly what I needed. Art block has been kicking my ass for months, couldn't think of anything, drawing felt annoying, that sort of thing. Listening to this motivated me to try some different materials and put together 6 sketches that I actually enjoyed, and now the creative flow has been jumpstarted again. Thank you for hotwiring my noggin.

Working on my book can burn me out. I appreciate the advice, I got some good process ideas I want to implement now after listening to this. Thanks James, more of this would be amazing. 👓

Would love to hear more about the creative process, especially in this format. I'm quite surprised you're not that comfortable in front of a camera, considering how... smooth a process you make it look. Does that mean it's also difficult to look back at the footage you record of yourself?

Making some podcast stuff like this would be such a hit for small creators like myself. And as much as I love hearing about how you make ideas, Im SUPER interested in how you actually make your unique looks. PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON HOW YOU DO IT!!

Really good advice!

This was great, would love to see more stuff like this

This was super interesting! Please make one (or more) about production, and other things you want to share. Keep it up! Always enjoying the things you make!

As someone who immensely struggles with imposter syndrome as a self taught artist and film student, this video really spoke to me. The way you break down your creative process and describe it in such a clear and universal way is incredibly helpful-I’m glad that we both pace around the room acting our ideas out!!! I’d really like to see more of these videos if you’re motivated enough. I really enjoy you talking about your process and what makes you tick. That piece of advice about training your creative muscle will definitely help me out in the future, so thank you once again!! Can’t wait to see what you do next!!!

Really liked the topic of this video. I’ve wanted to get back into drawing since I’m almost done with my college semester, but I feel like everything has to match how I envision it or it’ll be a disaster. This has become more of a problem since I’ve fallen out of practice, so it makes it hard for me to start up drawing again (beyond small doodles in my notes). Your advice really resonated with me, and I’ll definitely make changes so I’m able to relax when I draw! One thing did confuse me though… is this supposed to be James or Nox talking? If it is Nox, it’s interesting to see a helpful and insightful side to him, since he’s usually, ya know, not that lol
