Awww π₯Ή My 59 year old dad really loved this show so much too. Recently, I just casually turned the family TV to Anne with an E (in an attempt to make them watch it) Now my whole family just finished all till season 3. My dad especially was insistent on watching it, he would gather everyone in the evening and would watch the show. He said it's his favorite time of the day. π₯Ή

2023-06-22 18:28:32 +0000 UTCOne of the things that made me subscribe to this channel, and that always makes me happy to see, is that you guys don't dismiss things that are "for girls" and are able to appreciate the complexity and themes and emotional depth of the stories we women have been told are silly, or sentimental, or something only for us. These stories are for everyone! I see how the canon of "important" movies and books and shows is always full of stories about men and their problems, and I get so frustrated. (There are so many studies about this disparity and how women will watch stories about men and feel identified, but not the other way around, see the Geena Davis institute!) So thank you for watching this, and getting sincerely invested. And for the great balance of stories I see in your channel. I assure you it is rare. And it is so important. It gives me faith that younger people are doing things better.

2023-06-22 16:49:13 +0000 UTCi love that people are watching this show for the first time! the series is one of the most unique and most beautiful probably *ever*, and I love how complex each character is; especially the connection matthew and anne have. it's theorized and heavily accepted that they both have autism, which I think is a fun detail most viewers don't comprehend unless they themself are neurodivergent, and instead a lot of people label anne as "weird" and matthew as "awkward"
