i love this ep bc it’s a good pick-me-up after the last one. plus lucas (gilby goo) was definitely doing some… experimenting w his acting in s3 and this ep has some of his funniest deliveries.

cindy it honestly breaks my heart when people refer to normal teenage behavior and feelings as cringe. maybe it's because i'm older but i think the word cringe has become so damaging. so many normal and realistic things are cringe and so many younger people are so scared of just existing lest they be considered cringe. looking at this show from the lense of someone older i adore it. i think it's so raw and real and one of the best presentations of what it means to be young since like degrassi. it's like a love letter to girlhood and i love that. belly can be a bit immature but that's the whole point. find me one teenager who isn't lol that is the whole point of being a teen. cringe has become so widespread that it's used against just normal human behaviors and growing up and honestly it breaks my heart a little. no one can just be and exist and go through normal human emotions and growth. i remember one of my friends telling me her little cousin in kindergarten came home crying and not wanting to watch paw patrol anymore because it was "cringe." it's just wild how people especially children can't just exist and grow and experience without it being considered embarrassing. it's wild to me

@lilly in what ways? If you keep in mind that they’re all teenagers and that it’s a coming-of-age storyline for the protagonist, it should be easy to forgive anything that might seem cringe. I don’t think many people considered themselves cool as a teenager. It was nice to watch a show in which teenagers are actually portrayed like teenagers— goofy, awkwardness and all.

yusra i completely agree! it's so good!! that last episode makes me bawl like no other every time i watch it. such a sweet and heartfelt show and one of the best representations i've seen of what it means to grow up as a teenage girl and all those very big feelings that are so very new. i think it's done really well

Beltane (May day) is what they tried to recreate at the end - it's a pagan thing found in lots of north-western european cultures, English being one of them
