Diana and Jerry go through some troubles as Jerry is feeling bad about his status. The kids group together to protest what's going on with the newspaper and it seems to work until the man visits the school at night.. while i love this show and the way it desires to address things i fear it may have gotten too ambitious at times. there's curtain stories that require more care and this is one of them. i think they may have intended to do more with those characters but currently it feels sort of slap-dash. i commend them for sharing these stories and diving into issues the original might not have, but at the same time, with not having the proper time to devote to them, it feels almost messy. which is a shame. if there's one thing i'd change in regards to this series it'd be giving those stories some more time. i know it's anne's story, but i feel like if you are wanting to include other stories in your main story that raise awareness of historic atrocities then devote the proper time and care to do so, or else it feels slap-dash and not done with due care. i hope i'm making sense in what i'm saying. i'm glad they include these stories, i just wish they had more time to properly devote to them.

I like those characters, but it's just not connected to the main plot and it's a bit of a strange move to introduce completely new characters in the final season and give them their own separate sub plot (that then isn't even shown in all episodes)

2023-07-26 23:39:10 +0000 UTClmao y’all cringing during every gilbert scene is so funny😭 most of us who suggested this show were teenage girls when it aired so forgive us if we hyped anne+gilberts relationship up too much 😬 in hindsight their interactions are pretty cringy sometimes but i love them tho
