I really liked last month's undead and hope you'll revisit them at some point and offer modular human skeletons in the same vein as these. I know you need to offer variety so wouldn't expect them right away, but please throw that on the idea heap. Best patreon going, IMO!

It doesn't matter how large or small a business is, if you pay into something and receive something different then you are fully entitled to be refunded the money paid.

2021-05-21 15:45:44 +0000 UTCRusty, I asked for one or two non human skeletons during last month's release. not because I'm an undead player (i'm not, I have no death army) but because they are really hard to find any non human skeletons, and I'm trying to bulk out my dogs of war cursed company. I don't think this month got "hijacked" so much as, if you want something specific, ask, because if the sculptor thinks its a cool Idea they will run with it. I wasn't expecting pack 2 to be all skelorcs, but I'm not complaining about it either.

I personally think Avatars of War are doing right by the patreon community in the fact they are listening to their patreons suggestions for what people would like to see. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting this many skeletal orcs, but I'm not unhappy with any of it, the weapon options are brilliant for any orc dudes, you have new bits you can stick on bases and banners, and 4 (so far) new Orc lords. If you want something specific, you can ask, because as I say, they are doing great at listening to feedback, and given how new this patreon is, I think you're being a bit entitled tbh buddy.

I joined based on his Orc models, it was a nice surprise for the undead Orcs but completely understand it did not meet expectations. Felix is trying to give back to the community supporting him. He had such a positive response to the Undead Orc he made a few more to celebrate the support he had. Granted this moved away from the direction expected. There is still more releases coming this month that he can address the disappointment to some members here. The models are incredible and he is working hard trying to give us what we want :). Niels was correct in voicing his disappointment and did so in a constructive manner that is supporting this project. We all love the work and effort into these sculpts, lets keep the feedback positive. This is a great group of vocal individuals that drive this community. 2021-05-19 09:23:02 +0000 UTCJust because I know everyone is dying to hear my opinion ;) I too was surprised and a bit disappointed by the undead models this month - especially since I hadn't seen the requests for them. The awesome orc warlords was what caught my attention and made me jump right at the subscription even though I actually couldn't afford it (merchant license - I know that the regular license is incredibly cheap). That being said, I hadn't even considered the fact that it was "not what we were promised" before I read these comments. I agree that its true and I would prefer live orcs myself, but just to be able to print (and sell) stuff made by Felix whose models I've drooled over for many years (since before Avatars of War was formed and he did stuff for GW) is a very big deal for me. As a merchant I know how easy it is to get caught up in specific wishes from the customers - and it can quickly look like it must be the entire community making those wishes. Whats important to remember is that these orc skeletons (that do look awesome btw) come from someone trying his best to make people happy. I know I'm already happy looking at my big warlords knowing that there is even more to come :)

2021-05-19 08:43:59 +0000 UTCAs for supports, I have stopped using presupported files, you can use them as a start point. Thing is, we all use different printers/resin and settings. Nobody can make a presupport that will work for everybody. So always check for islands and check your settings. Just a tip.

Took a few hours work to deal with all the islands on the but once that was sorted they printed up brilliantly!! And as Glitterwolf says, the components gives you the options for printing loads of base litter. I'm going to have orc skeletons on all my bases from now on!!

2021-05-19 06:53:42 +0000 UTCWith the Undead Month we suddenly got a few Dark Elf Princesses, Some people were happy some reacted the same way and wanted 20 undead. In the end they got 20 undead, the sculptor made a few more. Now if he makes 5 living Orcs and make them modular you'll get even more. The Month is not over. There many patreons out there that deliver at the last day. Is that really so bad? They need time to sculpt/design and test print to make sure we get good stuff. this is not a store where everything is already on the shelf. Give him some time, I'm confident there will be plenty Orcs when this is all over. And please people DO consider the price. You'll get a Unit for the price of one single mini. There are single 3D files out there that are more expensive than the whole set here.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if you released random models of whatever you felt like making so long as the quality, character and aesthetic isn't compromised. Patreon has turned into something... different to what I think it was intended to be. Honestly I am happy to support this patreon just to contribute to the artist so that they can follow their own vision and make really great sculpts and cool kits.

Maybe it would be a good idea for the next releases to mention that it's a certain race and that it may include a few Undead. If you put out a modular living Orc group like you did with the skeletons than I doubt anyone could feel cheated. I mean with modular you can make almost endless combinations. I love the Undead and have no use for Dwarves or Halflings for example but if there would be just one or two undead versions in a month it would be enough for me to stick around given the price. Continue the modular idea and everybody will get what they want I guess. Please DO include some banners/musician parts one day? That would be awesome. Or .. dare I ask...a mount? Boar/Wolf/Horse/Lizard etc depending on the race.

2021-05-18 18:58:40 +0000 UTCSo far we have received more than 10 Orc models. 5 Orc Warbosses, 5 Orc Skeleton Bosses and a multipart kit that can make a huge variety of additional Orc Skeletons. All of this for a whole $4.00 US. Without the multipart kit, thats $0.40 per model. There is no company that sells models at this kind of price point. No company sells a multipart kit at this kind of price. My opinion... stop worrying about not getting 5 orcs per week. So far we have received that. One request is on one of the regular orc boss releases, a multipart kit would be cool. Also, one of the other posters made mention that he hoped we would get a few skeletal models in each release, I second that thought. A certain company in Nottingham made a regiment of renown called the cursed company. I have some of those models and these orcs and any others will go nicely in that regiment. One last thought, any way we can get a add on to any multipart that has a banner and musician (drum) parts??

That being said, I can understand somes arguments if they signed up for a one month subscription just to get 20 orks and received 5 dead orks :) All in all things will work out just fine!

2021-05-18 18:27:43 +0000 UTCI feel bad for all the negative comments. These are good models and I especially appreciate the modularity. That increases their usefulness a lot. Personally, even though I’m not getting as many living Orcs as I expected I still consider this Patreon an excellent value. For the low price and high quality, I think I would be a monthly subscriber regardless of what types of models you put out. I can see the complaints from people who specifically need Orcs, but honestly the first batch of living Orcs you already released was a good enough value to warrant the subscription on its own.

I understand the frustration that a few commenters asking for more skeletons were able to sway the direction of the month’s release, but he says there are more Orcs coming so just wait and see what he puts out. The first release of Orcs was amazing.

So, even though I'm an undead player, everything else from here on should be living orcs. But I hope AoW isn't put off by the reaction and continues to produce a few undead versions of everything they produce each month - because these models are outstanding.

I am only a bit puzzled by putting all parts in single files, like all heads in one file, all bodies in another etc. Anyone with a bit of experience with slicers or Meshmixer can isolate them, but maybe separate files would have made more sense?

2021-05-18 16:57:11 +0000 UTCThe primary problem here is that a pre-existing Undead fanbase that was built up from a previous feature month has been allowed to hijack the feature month of another faction. When the artist listened to the fanbase, most of his fanbase were carryover Undead players when it was supposed to be somebody else's turn for the spotlight.

2021-05-18 16:51:09 +0000 UTCBelieve me when I say that I printed the bosses from the first batch immediately, and even these models, despite not being what we were promised, are of incredible quality and great value. An infantry kit for £0.75 (£3 divided by four for each weekly batch)? That is insane value and for the quality as well, it's just incredible. The problem is that it is most definitely not what was offered when we made pledges for it. It is essentially getting the wrong food at a good restaurant, I can't use these models and I heavily doubt that if the Undead get a second feature month that I'm going to get Orc models from that.

As for the weeklies...I have seen plenty of other Patreons be slightly late with deliveries. What's more important is how consistently it happens. This one still seems new and is finding its footing. If adjustments are made then it shows they're listening, if not and it's always late well then....there's a problem. But things happen. I for one think I'm getting fantastic value price and quality wise. I mean, do people normally fire up the printer and starting painting IMMEDIATELY after a new upload? Seems unlikely, I think most people have a bigger pile of shame than they like to admit, both on their hard drives and their shelves.

I don't believe that we were intentionally falsely advertised to, this is a solo artist, fairly new to direct customer involvement, who was trying to cater to the demands of a community and did so not realising that it was stepping on his less vocal supporters. Pulling out his funding isn't going to fix anything, but giving him the opportunity to move on and comprehend what the problem was can still move us back to the right track and leave most us with a happy ending from this.

We have now have 4 of those models and at this rate of delivery batch 4 is due to be delayed into June, so we won't get 20 models and we definitely aren't getting 20 'Fearsome and Brutal Orc Warlords'. Listening to the community is a great way to go forward for FUTURE projects, but delivering on what you have promised is the best way to deal with ONGOING projects. These are not ORC Warlords, they are UNDEAD infantry. Please deliver on what you have promised before catering to the requests of others.

What we got isn't what we were promised though but either way, we have got a good deal here regardless. I think it's only fair to give Felix a fair shake before we start going to extremes with this.
